My ownership experience of the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 has been overwhelmingly positive. I have not purchased the motorcycle to commute to work, but rather out of my interest in motorcycles in general. Even before buying the bike, I fell in love with its appearance, so I would always take a good look at the bike when I saw it. After buying the motorcycle, this feeling did not disappear; on the contrary, it became even stronger. The cylinder volume of 648 cc in the two-cylinder engine is one of my favorite features. Apart from the great performance, the engine sounds amazing. When driving on the highway, I rarely feel bored because of the fantastic sound, acceleration, and overall power of the engine. However, the motorcycle is not perfect by any means. The driving position is quite uncomfortable for me, especially on long rides. Moreover, the motorcycle is quite heavy, which makes driving in traffic difficult. Finally, I sometimes felt uncomfortably hot when driving in slow traffic due to the engine temperature. I also want to comment on maintenance and the preparation of the motorcycle for long rides. In my opinion, proper maintenance is vital for any motorcycle, and the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 is not an exception. As for me, I try to pay attention to the motorcycle’s chain, tires’ air pressure, engine oil, brakes, and coolant. In addition, I never skip an opportunity to change something during maintenance to prevent more significant problems in the future. It is essential to remember that washing and checking the motorcycle for small issues also prevents big ones from arising. My Pros and Cons of Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 Pros: 1. Stylish appearance; 2. Powerful two-cylinder engine; 3. Great performance on highways; 4. Wonderful driving characteristics; 5. Overall characterful bike; Cons: 1. Heavy traffic; 2. Sporty but uncomfortable driving position; 3. Hot engine on traffic; 4. High maintenance and operating costs. In conclusion, the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 has significantly enriched my experience from motorcycle riding. It gave me the feeling of a journey, which I believe is why many people are so fond of motorcycle riding. Although the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 is not the most comfortable motorcycle in terms of traffic, it is an amazing bike for people who value not only the destination but also the journey.
