About TRK 502x
The TRK502 and 502X are middleweight adventure-touring motorcycles from Benelli. The TRK 502 is geared more towards touring on paved roads, while the 502X is more for riders who will want capability off-road as well.
The TRK 502X uses a steel trellis frame which houses a parallel twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled 500cc engine that puts out 47bhp of peak power at 8500rpm and 45Nm of torque at 4500rpm which is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. This makes it eligible for the A2 motorcycle licence in the European Union, which is an intermediate step between a beginner’s licence and a full motorcycle licence.
The motorcycle features upside down front forks with 150mm of suspension travel and a preload adjustable rear monoshock that also has 150mm of suspension travel. The TRK 502 has a ground clearance of 230mm and sits on a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel. Both wheel rims are spoked, for better usability off-road.
The TRK502X has two 320mm brake discs at the front and a 260mm disc at the rear with switchable ABS as standard. Benelli’s TRK 502X weighs in at around 210 kg wet and can go up to 235kg with panniers and has a fuel tank capacity of 20 litres. The bike has a fairly low seat height of 800mm, which is shorter than a Honda CBR650F, for example.
The Benelli TRK 502X will be launched in India by early 2019 with an expected price tag of under Rs 6 lakh.
