BMW Motorrad has announced the launch of the 2021 R nineT and the R nineT Scrambler in the Indian market. The range comprises of two variants – Standard and Scrambler.
The standard BMW R nineT features a classic roadster design that takes inspiration from the company’s motorsports heritage. The motorcycle gets a round headlight at the front, a twin-pod instrument cluster, a beefy fuel tank, a split-style seat, and road-biased tyres. The motorcycle tips the weighing scale at 221kg (kerb). The Scrambler, as the name suggests, is built to look like a scrambler. This variant also gets a large fuel tank, a split-seat setup, a numberplate-mounted tail lamp, and high-set dual-exhausts. Unlike the standard model, the Scrambler rides on alloy wheels.
The feature list on the motorcycles comprises full LED lighting, adjustable clutch/brake levers, USB charging interface, and a newly designed semi-digital instrument cluster. The electronic rider aids include two riding modes – ‘Rain’ and ‘Road’, Automatic Stability Control (ASC), ABS Pro, and Dynamic Brake Control (DBC).
The mechanical specifications on the 2021 BMW R nineT series include a 1,170cc, air and oil-cooled, two-cylinder, Boxer engine that makes 107.2bhp of power at 7,250rpm and 116Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox. BMW Motorrad claims 0-100kmph acceleration in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 200kmph.
The suspension setup on the standard model includes upside-down front forks and a rear mono-shock. The Scrambler variant uses right-side up telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock to handle the suspension tasks. The anchoring tasks are handled by twin rotors at the front and a single disc at the back.

Everything about this machine is just awesome for me. It's been 4 years now still every time I ride it, it puts a smile on my face. What more can you ask from a bike. People can say no value for money since it's on the pricy side, for the same amount of money you will get more powerful bikes, adventure bikes.. But all that is not an R nineT. It's truly a soul fuel.
