Way back in 2005 there were only a few cruiser motorcycles. One of them was the bajaj avenger. It made you feel like a king and with it being made in India, it didn’t cost you a pretty penny either. The bajaj avenger had undergone some engine changes in the past, but now they’ve revamped their range. Meet the cruise 220, the street 220 and the street 150. But since the street 220 and the cruise 220 are mechanically the same we’ll skip the street 220 for now and go for a spin on the cruise 220 and the street 150.

Well, i always wished to have a cruiser bike with likes of harley but with avenger it became possible. As it is a pocket friendly low budget priced cruiser bike. It's a gem in its own. Looks, styling, comfort, road appearance everything is excellent. Mileage is impressive and maintenance is quite low. I have driven >12000 km and its one and half years old but still feels like i have purchased it today. Never expected such a quality product from bajaj and its fulfills dream of having affordable cruiser bike for youths.

Mileage in city 30 kmpl.Headlight is very very weak. Better carry a torch with you and wrap it around the helmet.Gear shifting is the worse. Its like hammering a rock with your leg.Suspension is like a rock. You feel the rocks. Seat is not meant for riding more than 20 minutes. It become very hard and uncomfortable to sit. No pick up at all. Not even like a 125 cc bike.If there was no law in the country, i would have burned all bajaj service centre with service people locked inside. They are not mechanics but they are deaf dhobis. They just wash your bike with detergent and never listen to anything you say.

    1. I used to own pulsar 150 before this (5 years) i always wanted to buy a cruise bike but couldn't afford it, and when avenger street came, i bought it that month itself. Classy and sexy look with good maintenance cost.2. Unlike other bikes, i personally find it perfect even for long ride. There in no tension on the wrist, and back.3. Look wise i would say its just too eye catching. I personally like the styling of the bike, the side profile of the bike looks just too stunning.4. I don't know about other place but so far so good for servicing, its just that some mechanic at the service center are not trained well, sometimes they can't even detect small wiring problems. After buying for about a year it didn't gave me any problems at all except the battery which went bad in 3-4 months, i had to push and start before getting new battery other than that no major changes except engine oil and brake.5. I would say this bike is affordable with low cost maintenance, unlike those other cruiser bike it won't make a hole in our pocket, the styling is good, comfortable riding, good mileage. Cons: i would say the battery which went bad just about 3-4 months, i don't know how or why. And the chain sprocket needs to be taken care of frequently or else it makes noise easily, but that's not big issue for we can do ourselves at home.

I changed the chain socket in 32000 km and once I changed the rare brake shoe only front I never changed yet still both brakes work good. Suspension both working good . 2 times I am change the sparking plug. Now head light have little bit low power because of losing chromium plating of headlight doom. I change the seat because rare seat is too smaller overall very good one for long and short rides.

This is a bike excellent styling. It definitey catches the eyes of the people around you when you are on the road.

Engine delivers good power except that it get heated up too quickly. I got a mileage of 48km/l which i think is a good mileage for a 1500cc bike. It has a 5 speed gear box & it works very smoothly.

Its a very stable bike, whether you are riding in the highway or under heavy traffics.

You can even drive the vehicle at a speed of 5 km/hr under heavy traffic conditions without putting your leg down.

Overall, it is an excellent bike with a good value for money in the 1500cc segment.

Areas of improvement engine gets heated up too quickly which needs to be improved.

    Pros

    comfort,low seating,style,fuel economy & pricing,

    cons

engine gets heated up too quickly

I purchased this bike on july 18th 2015. For the first two days it was fine and then started showing the list of problems in it.

    1) Handling - not good for handling because my hand is pain after long drive.

    2) Poor pickup - on any gear pickup doesn't feel like a 150cc bike(not even close to a 110cc bike).

    3) Gear shifting problem - sometimes gears doesn't shift well and they make disgusting noise when changing.

    4) Sound - the beating which is there for the initial two days is completely changed and now it sounds like a bike which is 5 years old. Completed disgusting and annoying.

    5) Engine - every time when you raise the bike on any gear there seems to be a annoying sound from the engine which is not so audible (you have to observe it carefully). I can easily say that this engine not for long lasting. Hardly it will last for one years.

    6) Mileage - one of the worst problem i am facing now. Can you believe a 150cc bike which has no proper power, no performance just like the other 150cc bikes but still it is not giving a mileage of 40kmpl. As of now the mileage is below 40.

    7) Seat - not at all comfortable for seat.

    8) Side indicator's doesn't make sound when they are in use, just like the other bikes. Then just simply blink.

    9) Fuel - the digital fuel gauge which is completely useless , sometimes it shows four points and the very next minute they reduce to two points.
