Hero MotoCorp has extended its Xtec line-up with the launch of the new Passion XTEC. The XTEC badge brings additional features to the commuter motorcycle. These include a new LED headlight and a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity that gives access to SMS and call alerts. However, it misses out on the turn-by-turn navigation function. The motorcycle also gets a side-stand engine cut-off sensor as well as service reminders.
Although the Passion XTEC gets a revised design for the headlight, the styling cues remain similar to the standard model. Other design elements include a tinted flyscreen, body-coloured headlight cowl, fuel tank shrouds, single-piece saddle, body-coloured pillion grabrail, and a side-slung exhaust. The motorcycle retains the 110cc, single-cylinder engine from the standard model. Linked to a four-speed gearbox, the motor develops 9bhp and 9.79Nm. Further, it gets the company’s i3S technology for better fuel economy.
The hardware comprises conventional telescopic forks and dual rear shocks to handle the suspension tasks. The braking setup on the base model includes drum units on both ends. The company also offers a front disc brake version of the motorcycle. All variants get combined braking system.
The Hero Passion XTEC rivals the likes of Honda Livo in the Indian market.

Here's a guide to servicing and maintenance:Regular Servicing: Adhere to the manufacturer's recommended service schedule outlined in the owner's manual. Typically, servicing intervals are based on time (e.g., every 3 months) or mileage (e.g., every 3000 km). Regular servicing involves tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, chain lubrication, and general inspection of components.Oil Changes: Engine oil plays a vital role in lubricating engine components and maintaining smooth operation. Regularly change the engine oil and oil filter as per the manufacturer's recommendations to prevent premature wear and tear.Chain Maintenance: The drive chain requires periodic cleaning and lubrication to ensure proper function and longevity. Inspect the chain tension regularly and adjust it as needed to prevent excessive slack or tightness.Brake Maintenance: Check the brake pads, brake fluid levels, and brake system for any signs of wear or degradation. Replace brake pads when they become thin, and bleed the brake system periodically to maintain optimal braking performance.Tire Care: Monitor tire pressure regularly and ensure it meets the manufacturer's recommended specifications. Inspect tires for signs of wear, damage, or punctures, and replace them if necessary. Proper tire maintenance is essential for safety and handling.Electrical System: Check the battery condition, electrical connections, and lighting system regularly to ensure proper functionality. Replace worn-out bulbs and address any electrical issues promptly.Fluid Levels: Besides engine oil and brake fluid, check other fluid levels such as coolant, transmission oil (if applicable), and fork oil (if applicable). Top up or replace fluids as needed to maintain optimal performance.Inspection and Cleaning: Periodically inspect the bike's various components, including the chassis, suspension, exhaust system, and fasteners, for signs of wear, corrosion, or damage. Clean the bike regularly to remove dirt, grime, and debris, which can contribute to premature deterioration.Professional Assistance: For complex maintenance tasks or issues beyond your expertise, seek assistance from a qualified motorcycle mechanic or authorized service center.By following these servicing and maintenance guidelines, you can keep your Hero Passion XTEC in top condition, ensuring reliability, safety, and longevity throughout its lifespan.

Chain Lubrication: Keep the drive chain properly lubricated to prevent premature wear and ensure smooth operation. Use a suitable chain lubricant and apply it after cleaning the chain. Tire Care: Check tire pressure frequently and maintain it within the manufacturer's recommended range. Inspect tires for signs of wear, cuts, or punctures, and replace them if necessary. Also, ensure proper wheel alignment for even tire wear. Fluid Levels: Regularly check fluid levels such as engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, and transmission oil (if applicable). Top up or replace fluids as needed according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Brake System: Inspect brake pads for wear and replace them if they are thin. Check brake fluid levels and bleed the brake system periodically to maintain optimal performance. Electrical System: Test all lights, indicators, and electrical components regularly to ensure they are functioning correctly. Replace any burnt-out bulbs or address electrical issues promptly. Suspension and Chassis: Inspect the suspension components and chassis for signs of wear, corrosion, or damage. Lubricate moving parts as necessary and tighten loose fasteners to ensure structural integrity. Battery Maintenance: Check the battery terminals for corrosion and clean them if necessary. Worst bike I have ever used, The Engine stops anytime at the time of riding, loud engine noise, the problem was not solved by the service centre after 10,000 KM. Don't buy this bike. I'm going to file a case in consumer court to refund my money. The bike cost is approx 1 lac, it is not `1000/-. The service center staff is also not cooperative.
