    Honda Shine Summary

Price: Honda Shine price for its variant - Shine Drum starts at Rs. 81,794. The price for the other variants - Shine Disc and Shine Limited Edition are Rs. 86,154 and Rs. 87,186. The mentioned Shine prices are the average ex-showroom.

Honda Shine is a commuter bike available in 3 variants and 7 colours. The Honda Shine is powered by 123.94cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 10.59 bhp and a torque of 11 Nm. With both front and rear drum brakes, Honda Shine comes up with combined braking system of both wheels. This Shine bike weighs 113 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 10.5 liters.

The Honda Shine is meant to be a workhorse and has consistently been the second highest-selling motorcycle in India. What has worked in its favour for years now is the engine refinement, fuel efficiency, comfort, and Honda’s bullet-proof reliability. Even the no-nonsense yet elegant design is liked by the majority.

Powering the motorcycle is a smooth 124cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that churns out 10.59bhp at 7,500rpm and 11Nm at 5,500rpm. It comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. The CB Shine gets conventional telescopic front forks and dual rear springs along with 18-inch alloy wheels at both ends. It can be had either with a drum brake at both ends or with a front disc, and a combined braking system (CBS) comes as standard equipment on both variants.

The bodywork comprises a bold headlamp, which is surrounded by an angular cowl. The fuel tank is a simple, curvy unit, which seamlessly blends with the large centre panels and the stubby tail section. The fuel tank capacity stands at 10.5 litres and the bike weighs 113kg (kerb), which makes it easy to manage and manoeuvre in the parking and in traffic. The Shine is quite simple on the feature front with an analogue instrument cluster, halogen lighting all around, and a silent starter.

    BikeWale's Take

The CB Shine is one easy to run and maintain 125cc motorcycle. It is known for its refined motor, and a ride quality that makes daily commuting an easy affair. But it lacks features.

Smooth, Reliable & Perfect for Daily Ride

        Ganesh Kasar

The engine is very refined and smooth. Gear shifting feels effortless, and there’s almost no vibration even at higher speeds. The pickup is decent for a 125cc bike, and it handles traffic very easily. What I personally like the most is the comfort — the seat is long and well-cushioned, and the suspension handles rough roads quite well.
Mileage is another strong point. It gives good fuel efficiency, which makes it pocket-friendly for daily use. Maintenance is also low, and Honda’s reliability gives peace of mind.
The design is simple and elegant — not too flashy, but classy. The build quality feels solid, and braking is confident, especially with the CBS system.
        Pros:
        Very smooth engine
        Good mileage
        Comfortable for long rides
        Low maintenance
        Reliable brand
        Cons:
        Design is simple (not sporty)
        Not for high-speed thrill seekers

Good suspension, good mileage overall a family bike
Minimalistic design but attractive if you are searching for a budget-friendly bike with good number of features, which is actually a good choice.
Generally hoda bikes are more reliable compared to other good engines with good torque, brakes,s lights and all-arounder

Parformance, riding experience service and looks

        Honey Singh Patel

        Performance: Smooth & Thrifty
The 124cc engine is exceptionally refined and virtually vibration-free at city speeds. Equipped with a 5-speed gearbox, it handles 60–70 km/h effortlessly while delivering a stellar real-world mileage of 55–65 kmpl.
        Riding Experience: Effortless Comfort
Weighing only 113kg, the Shine is incredibly nimble in traffic. The upright seating posture and long, cushioned seat make it one of the most comfortable bikes for both rider and pillion on daily commutes.
        Looks: Mature & Premium
The design is sophisticated rather than sporty. It features premium chrome garnishes, a 3D Honda wing emblem, and new-age touches like an LED headlamp and a USB charging port (on higher trims) that keep it looking modern for 2026.
        Service: Low Cost, High Trust
Honda’s massive service network and the bike's "fill it and forget it" nature make maintenance stress-free. Parts are affordable and widely available, ensuring the bike holds excellent resale value.

        Engine issue

        Pragnesh Patel

I own a Honda CB Shine 125 (2018 model), which has completed approximately 75,000 km. After reaching this mileage, the bike started developing engine-related issues every 800–1000 km, even though the engine oil was replaced regularly and on time.
Based on my personal experience, I am not satisfied with the performance and reliability of the CB Shine and would not recommend this bike.

It is a 125 cc VFM motorcycle. If you travel in fifth gear at a low speed, the mileage is approximately 60 to 62. My experience at the service centre is mediocre. The large seat and suspension settings for urban riding make it more comfortable than the splendor. digital meter accurately shows mileage and gear position. Seat comfort is better than SP 125.

Reliable, Smooth and Budget Friendly: My Honda Shine

        Sarthak

I’ve been riding my Honda Shine for about a year now for my daily commute, and it has genuinely been a "fill it, shut it, forget it" kind of experience. The buying process at the local dealership was very smooth and professional, with all the paperwork completed much faster than I expected. The standout feature for me is definitely the refined 125cc engine; it is incredibly silent and remains almost vibration-free even when I push it a bit, which makes navigating heavy city traffic much less stressful. The upright seating posture is a lifesaver for long rides, and the suspension handles typical road bumps and potholes quite well without feeling too stiff. On the plus side, the engine refinement is easily the best in this segment, and I consistently get around 58-60 kmpl, which is great for the pocket, plus the build quality feels solid with no rattling sounds after a year of use. On the downside, the features are very basic, and I really wish it had a digital console or at least a clock since the current analogue setup feels a bit dated, and the stock rear tyre feels slightly narrow on wet roads during the monsoon. For other owners, I highly recommend getting the engine oil changed every 2,500 km and keeping the chain lubricated to keep the gear shifts buttery smooth. Overall, if you want a bike that just works without any drama, the Shine is a solid 4/5 choice.

I bought a Honda Shine 125 bike yesterday from my Honda JMR showroom near rtc complex, Rajahmundry. I have noticed a crack in the tail this morning when I took it for pooja. Build quality is very poor. Don't go for this bike. The salesperson is not knowledgeable. You don't even need to add petrol. It is a simple instruction for new buyers.

I have never seen such a bad bike in my life. It has been 3 years since I bought the bike and now it has stopped working. I asked to start it and was told it would cost 20 thousand. What is the point of buying a bike? Once it stops working, it will not start again.
Trust me this was worst. I'm tired to visit service centre

Oil leakage in engine head Not resolved

        Ashok

        Dear colleagues
Don't buy a new model hone shine 125 after the first service by bike, Total 2500 km. Started oil leakage in the engine head twice. I gave service in the authorized service center still problem not resolved. Now again I am giving service.
As per my knowledge, this issue will not be resolved; it's a company manufacturing problem, but they're not responding.
Please don't waste money and time.
