Back in 2015, i did lot of market study of available options in 150 cc segment and went ahead for gixxer 155. There were 3 prime criteria's of my decision making: 1. Refinement 2. Longevity 3. Low budget maintenance Things which i didn't focus were: 1. Power 2. Dimensions 3. Service network. Honest feedback/thoughts after 5 years of ownership: 1. The refinement: of the engine is top-notch. I've ridden it in city commute, toured with more than 400+ km in single day with all-terrain and never has the engine shown any signs of breaking a sweat. 2. Handling - is easy with good predictability to keep it's line. It may sometime make you nervous in corners due to braking feedback from the breaks as mrf stock tyres are prone to lock and slippage. In a straight line, average speeds of 75 kmph and 80 kmph is the sweet spot, anything after this speed, the engine resists the acceleration. In short, low and mid-range is something which keeps you happy and top-end isn't it's the likeness. 3. Stance/rider triangle is excellent for a city commute, for touring anything beyond 2-3 hours of continuous riding soar your bottom and shoulders. I'm 5'9 ft and handling for me is super comfort. If you are 5'10 ft and above, you might find yourself cramped.4. Mileage: city is 40 kmpl / highway is 45 kmpl (average cruising speed below 75 kmph). Anything above it, fuel efficiency drops proportionally to average speed. 5. Maintenance: while suzuki's service network is not so spread-out, i have found them at many places during my tours. Spare part are 15%-20% more costly than hero / bajaj but they last good for the price. And average service (excluding any extra repairs) would cost you inr 700-800 with oil change. Summing up: Hits: - refinement of engine - build quality - maintenance cost- riding stance and handling. Miss- braking / tyres - seating comfort (in tours only)- once you mature as a rider, you would long for extra power :)Motorcycle stats: Purchased: feb'2015 odo reading: 41500+ kms Best mileage: 47 kmpl Worst mileage: 36 kmpls Average (city): 40 kmpl Average (highway): 45 kmplAvg. Service cost: inr 700-800 (with oil change)

Excellent Pick up, requied regular Maintenance
38 weeks ago
Sanjiv Rahate
Bike pick-up is excellent. If you drive at an average speed, the mileage will be 40 kmpl. Tire consumption is very fast. The chain kit needs to be changed every 12000km. Every part is easily available in the showroom. There is no rust on the bike. The colour of the bike is durable. Worst of all, the leg guard provided by the company got damaged within four months. Bike seats should be more comfortable.

1. Good buying experience from SP Suzuki Kandivali, got delivery in 5 days after payment. 2. Comfortable upright seating. Sweet spot below 5k rpm after which there are some vibrations. Sometimes gets stuck on 2 gear and is not able to go to 1 gear unless you switch it off and go to neutral. 3. Love the tail light but would prefer LED turn signals and probably the older version of halogen lamps. Has a dual nature when you want to ride timidly it is very mellow but can growl like an animal when driven aggressively. 4. The service center addressed all my issues and the cost is manageable. 5. Pros. Performance, MileageCons. Headlight throw, rear view mirror coverage,

I bought suzuki gixxer blue from Signature Kannur. Pros.1.Good Machine, Engine Performance is remarkable.2.No heating issue up to 40k after that slight heating was started from engine side.3.Riding position4.Gear Ratio5.Good aero dynamic designCons1. Tight Gear shaft, Painfull gear shifting. If the clutch wire is little loose then it is horrible to change the gear2.Oil leakage through magnetic coil wire. They first replaced the cover. It costs around 250 rupees, but it was not stopped. Then I changed magnetic coil (rs 1600). after 100 km again restarted the same problem. After watching a youtube video I applied some gasket maker on the part , then only It stopped.3.Spare part availability is very poor in our area. My front break disc was damaged and purchased new one. When the mechanic started to changing it he said that your MC kit and wheel cylinder kit should be replaced then only we can fix the issue permanently. I enquired in three authorised showrooms in my area and all of them said that part is not available here. I ordered these parts in signature Kannur. At last I received a message that my parts are came. Total 28 days for a small spare part.4.During Rain water will enter through tank cap. It will cause corrosion inside water tank . Check frequently.5.Swich quality is below average6.Handle bar is not good. The side stand is too straight. Bike fell down many times due to this height of side stand. All these times handle bar gets some damage and its quality is very bad. 7. Seat comfort is not up to the mark.Especially pillion seat.Pillion will feel discomfort even after 20km ride.Rider can enjoy 60 km continuous ride easily.8.Spare Parts Rates are similar to royal Enfield parts

The bike is very good. It is easy to go in city as well as highways. Maintenance is very less but sometimes the parts are bit expensive. Very light so little difficult to ride in rains. Bike is very reliable and it is very stylish. The discs are perfectly tuned for any road condition. Moreover it is a budget bike for every Indian.

Gixxer- one of my best decisions.

Price-92000rs on road.Km- 7029 Hi, the story started on 18 june 2018. After many reviews of different bikes in search of a practical all rounder i finally selected gixxer 155 sp( black and orange) duel disk. With some special discounts i pay 92000rs which was 3500 less than original price. Done more than 7000 in almost 2 years as work place is near. I had options for fi and abs version but select duel disk according to my use. Let me tell both +ves and -ves in points. Pros:1. Mileage- getting more than 50kmpl initially surprised me and i check if meter is ok or not. I fill approx 6 ltrs or accurate ltrs after every reserve and calculate mileage by distance between next reserve. Lowest 42 highest 56. Friends struggle below 45 with their 150cc bikes.2. Tyres- very grippy stock tyres. I lean very much even at 70 kph. Very confidence inspiring. 3. Weight- with just 134 kg it's easy to handle, flick able. It look small some people but its compact actually. (i remove center stand and sari guard for reduction of more weight.)4. Performance- it look less powerful on paper but its torquey and accessible at very low rpm. Punchy yet controlled and linear response. 5. Chasis- it has very involving riding experience. Help in maneuverability. Vibration not feel up to 80 kph. 6. Engine- it is very sooth and don't heat that much. Good low mid range. Great for city riding. 7. Seating- upright and comfortable. Seat height is less but ok for both tall and short guys. I have done 850 km in single day but feel very less fatigue. 8. Service cost and parts- service cost is mostly under 600rs. (335 oil+ 35 filter+ 100 chain clean and lube+ 50 washing+ 120-150 labour). But i do chain clean and lube at home which cost less than 50rs. Interval 3500-4000km or 4 month. Parts quality is mostly good, priced reasonable. Didn't change anything till now. 9. Console have every info. And readable. Gear shift indicator leight and gear position indicator. Hope it has riding modes like suzuki gs150r.10. The most complete all rounder package at this price at that time.11. Looks- love its rear looks, curvy design, surfaces finish, duel tip exhaust, fat tyre, cool sp color scheme. Cons: every bike has issue here are some1. Rear seat- rider seat is decent cushioned but rear seat is both small and less cushioned. You can sit for 25-30 min only.2. Performance leg- although its punchy but in beginning it feel out of breath a little bit when shifted not properly. Also the top end could be batter. Gearbox is little hard.3. Spare parts- you find major parts mainly in service centers. So you need to see service centers locations.4. Some quality issues- i see some parts started loosing paint and rusting a little bit. 5. Some design issues- rear seat is high, wind shield very much required, low ground clearance due to exhaust design, useless mud guard design both front and rear, risky long rod welded with center stand, rear grab rails are difficult for lifting bike. 6. Headlight are not powerful enough. 7. Tank is 12.5 lit. A larger tank would help in long trips.8. Suspension could be better. Sudden jerks feel many time.I didn't regret my decision till date. In fact its batter than new gixxer in many ways. And now hope to upgrade to gixxer sf 250. Hope i helped others to understand it properly. Thank you.

Thank you.

5 years & 41000 kms of plentiful of memories
