Hero Splendor Plus Summary
Hero Splendor Plus is a commuter bike available in 4 variants and 8 colours. The Hero Splendor Plus is powered by 97.2cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 7.91 bhp and a torque of 8.05 Nm. With both front and rear drum brakes, Hero Splendor Plus comes up with combined braking system of both wheels. This Splendor Plus bike weighs 112 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 9.8 liters.
The Splendor Plus has been Hero Motocorp’s best-selling product in India for years now, mainly for its reliability and frugal engine, which make it an ideal workhorse. Hero’s massive service network and affordable ownership experience also play a part in Splendor’s long-running success.
The motorcycle comes in four variants, including self-start with alloy wheels, self-start with alloys and i3S, Black and Accent, and Matt Axis Grey Metallic.
Powering the bike is a 97.2cc, air-cooled engine with Hero’s ‘XSens technology’. The engine now produces 7.91bhp at 8,000rpm and 8.05Nm at 6,000rpm. The engine comes mated with a four-speed gearbox. The hardware package, just like the rest of the bike, is pretty basic with telescopic forks and dual shock absorbers and gets drum brakes at both ends. It weighs 112kg (kerb) and the fuel tank capacity stands at 9.8 litres.
Considering its displacement and purpose, the Hero Splendor Plus BS6 faces competition from the Honda Shine 100 and the TVS Radeon.

Bought the bike in 2002, till date(2025 Dec) I faced no issues with the engine, it is working like a gem. Still returns me a minimum mileage of 50kmpl. Someone looking for this bike can blindly go ahead and buy it, it is not a nonsense bike that serves the purpose, can cruise at 70 to 80 effortlessly, which is good enough considering indian roads.

I have been using the Hero Splendor for daily commuting, and it truly lives up to its reputation. The mileage is excellent, which makes it very economical for long-term use. The engine is reliable, easy to maintain, and the spare parts are easily available everywhere at a reasonable price.The riding position is comfortable for city rides, and the bike is very smooth on normal roads. It is the best choice for someone who wants a simple, budget-friendly, and fuel-efficient bike.On the downside, the power is a bit limited, so it’s not meant for high-speed riding or long highway trips. The design is classic but not very sporty compared to some modern bikes.Overall, Hero Splendor is the perfect bike for daily use – affordable, reliable, and highly efficient.

bike ho toh splendor plus ho nhi toh nhi hona chahiye mleage 70-80 thak mil jaye or kiya hi chahiye life mein field mein kaam karne keliye isse accha or kiya hi milega aapko comfortable milenge yeah price ho sab kuch mast hai jitna jaldi ho sake itne hi jaldi book kare .

The bike has no power....in case we put a little load on bike its clutch gets burned and it creates noise like a dead engine. It is only 3 months old bike. When we went to the service centre, they asked us to pay for changing the clutch plate and said insurance does not cover this damage. What a pathetic product we have received. I personally advise my known people not to buy the Splendor bike.

My hero splendor experience

I bought Hero Splendor Plus because I wanted a bike for daily use that is simple and cheap to maintain. The buying process was normal. The dealer showed me some options, but I picked this one because it is trusted and many people use it in my area. First ride feeling was good, lightweight, and easy to handle in traffic. I use it mostly for going to work and the market. Mileage is good, around 60 to 65 km per litre in my case, which saves money.

Hero company is a rubbish bike. My bike is almost a year old. The tire is getting air. I went to So Room and they didn't give me any good response. The So Room guy said that you have to put a new tire yourself. There is no guarantee for the tire. The tire got damaged in a year. Even a bike worth lakhs of rupees is being sold as a guarantee. Hero company is not buying a bike from Hero company.

I recommend NOT TO PURCHASE this motorcycle as it creates problems that can't be solved even in three years, even complaints made twice via email, but all in vain.The agency in Rampura Phul and Tapa mandi couldn't solve the problem in three years.

The buying experience is overall good. The price is higher. Performance is ok. But I have a lot of problems. Within 1 year, I am facing lots of problems with auto pickup. Knocking problem. The bike is lightweight. Don't buy it at all. Go for Honda SP. If you are buying this bike, be ready for different problems. The service centre will not help you. They will charge money from you money. Kindly ignore Hero Bikes.
