Yamaha FZS V4 Summary

Price: Yamaha FZS FI V4 price for its variant - FZS FI V4 Standard starts at Rs. 1,31,283. The price for the other variants - FZS FI V4 Deluxe and FZS FI V4 Standard - OBD 2B are Rs. 1,31,791 and Rs. 1,35,381. The mentioned FZS FI V4 prices are the average ex-showroom.

Yamaha FZS FI V4 is a street bike available in 3 variants and 12 colours. The Yamaha FZS FI V4 is powered by 149cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 12.2 bhp and a torque of 13.3 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, Yamaha FZS FI V4 comes up with anti-locking braking system. This FZS FI V4 bike weighs 136 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 13 liters.

The FZS FI V4 is the latest iteration of Yamaha’s popular and long-running FZ series. It is different from the V3 version on the design and feature front while remaining the same mechanically.

It features a fascia that is different from that of the V3 with a more radical-looking headlamp. Apart from that, the styling remains largely unchanged and the V4 has carried over the muscular fuel tank with faux air intakes, angular side panels, and the stubby tail section. The bike also comes with a multi-function LCD console that packs in a speedometer, odometer, trip meter, and a fuel level readout, and offers smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth. While the LED headlamp and taillamp are common in all variants, the Deluxe trim of the FZS FI V4 gets LED blinkers, unlike bulb-type indicators in other variants.

It continues to draw power from a 149cc single-cylinder motor that produces 12.2bhp and 13.3Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. Then, the hardware package comprises conventional telescopic front forks and a monoshock at the rear while a single disc at the front and rear handles the braking duties.

Yamaha FZS FI V4 Review

  • Good Things

    • Gets a comfortable riding position
    • Quite easy to ride it in the city
    • The 149cc engine offers decent fuel efficiency
  • Could be Better

    • Some cycle parts don't have good quality
    • It has limited service reach
    • Quite expensive than some of its rivals

BikeWale's Take

The Yamaha FZ V4 is more muscular in terms of design as compared to the earlier variant. The bike offers a comfortable riding position and modern features that put it on par with its rivals. It comes with a 149cc engine that offers decent fuel efficiency. However, it has a limited service reach and demands a price higher than its rivals

Pretty good bike but the build quality ain't good

      Yashraj Sharma

It rides pretty well but the body panels made of fiberglass aren't as securely fitted as you'd expect from a bike that costs almost 2L onroad the lower end the seat of mine got loosen up in just a week and the fasteners have literally dropped out while riding and the dealership ain't ready to rectify this mistake even even tho i agreed to pay for the fastners and just demanded the part itself
I'd add the videos too but they ain't supported sadly

The bike is good on road. Safe to drive. Service is slightly costlier and parts changes at a regular interval is a little costly.
Pickup is good while upto 10,000 then it gets slower, so the service centre recommended changing clutch plates and it is much earlier than other bikes I have purchased and it causes a little more cost.

Best bike in the segment for mileage & smoothness

      Pushkar Rautela

I purchased this bike at the start of 2025. Previously, I was riding a Splendor Plus i3s bike. So I am obsessed with high mileage, but I am facing vibration issues in my Splendor, so I am looking for a good bike with 50+ mileage with a smooth engine. Then I booked a test ride for multiple bikes, but when I rode this bike, I loved it. Before taking a test ride, I was thinking this bike might be very heavy for me, but I was wrong. This bike is very simple and easy to maneuver. Now I have completed 5500 km.
I am happy to have Yamaha.

The best 150 cc bike for city rides mileage is between 45 to 50 km, handling, and sitting position are great and suspension is also, but there is no gear indicator. build quality needs improvement but the engine is super refined by Yamaha.
this is too light in this segment and it cost me around 1.6 lakhs.

I'd add the videos too but they ain't supported sadly

the Yamaha FZ is such a cool bike! It's known for its sporty design and great performance. The FZ series has a powerful engine, usually around 150cc, which gives it a nice balance of power and fuel efficiency.
Riders love it for its comfortable riding position and handling, making it perfect for city rides and even some longer trips. Plus, it looks pretty sleek and stylish! Have you ever thought about getting one, or do you already ride one?
