Sporty and Fun to Ride but Mileage Could Be Better
1 week ago
Devasujith
I own the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V TFT USD model and overall, the bike is very enjoyable to ride. The buying experience from the showroom was smooth and the bike immediately impressed me with its sporty design and road presence. Handling is one of the best in this segment and the bike feels very stable both in city traffic and on highways. The USD suspension, braking and build quality feel premium and the TFT display adds a modern touch.Performance is strong and the bike is fun to ride, especially on highways where it feels planted and confident. It is also comfortable enough for daily commuting and occasional family rides. However, the biggest downside for me is the fuel economy in city traffic. I am getting around 28–32 kmpl, which is quite low compared to competitors like the Pulsar N160 that gives around 40–45 kmpl in the city. If mileage was better, this would be almost perfect. For maintenance, regular service and correct tyre pressure help keep the bike smooth. Apart from mileage, everything else like performance, handling and features, is really impressive

reality of RTR 160 4v

Quick Review: The Reality of the TVS Apache RTR 160 4VThe TVS Apache RTR 160 4V boasts best-in-class numbers on paper, but what is it actually like to live with every day? We cut through the hype to bring you the real pros and cons of owning this segment leader. The Highs: Where it ExcelsRefined Power: The 4-valve engine is incredibly smooth with linear power delivery and almost zero vibrations.City Lifesaver (GTT): The "Glide Through Technology" lets you crawl through bumper-to-bumper traffic using just the clutch—no throttle needed.Great Suspension: The Showa-tuned setup perfectly balances eating up city potholes with staying stable on corners.Tech-Loaded: Ride modes (Urban, Rain, Sport) and Bluetooth navigation make the digital console feel like a segment above. The Reality Check: Where it Falls ShortWeak Headlight: The LED setup looks aggressive but lacks the throw and spread needed for dark highway rides.Highway Strain: It's a city rocket, but you will definitely miss a 6th gear when pushing past 90 km/h on the highway.Pillion Comfort: The sloping pillion seat is narrow, meaning passengers tend to slide forward during hard braking.Mud Splashes: Riding in the monsoon guarantees the rear tyre will kick up mud onto the passenger's and rider’s back. The VerdictRating: 4.5 / 5The RTR 160 4V is arguably still the best all-rounder in its class. Buy it if you want a refined, tech-heavy daily commuter that is genuinely fun to ride. Skip it only if you strictly need a highway tourer or frequently ride with a pillion on long trips.

bought 2 nd hand ride, quality is good, suspension is great, absorbs potholes. It is sporty enough, but the main issue is with the instrument cluster it always gets damaged in the rain, and other things and looks are fine. had fun while riding it. Service centre are good but has no knowledge of its tech and had to take help of YouTube for it, but at least the service was good with no issues

Bike have severe breaking Issue
Bikas Yadav
The braking system of the vehicle is completely worst. From the first service, the front brake is making a lot of noise. Even the drum break doesn't make this much noise. At the time of every service, I have raised this issue with the service centre, but the issue has not resolved yet, even after changing the brake pads. It has already completed 4 services, but is still facing the same issue. And now from past few days, the rear brake is not working at all; it's getting stuck while riding fast. reak break pad are just one month old. It doesn't look like dual ABS. It's getting skid in 40-50 speed also. Really disappointed with the braking system of the bike. I never expected that I would face this kind of severe problem after buying this bike. Now I feel that I have made the biggest mistake of my life by purchasing this bike. My bike is just 10 months old, and now I am looking to sell it because of the poor service and issues with the bike. Tvs company is trying to attract the customer by conducting service mela occasionally. But they should look to improve their service quality, and also need to do some R&D into their bike braking system. I suggest to other not purchase this bike who are looking for a 160 CC bike. There are some better options like the Pulsar N160, which is better in every parameter than this bike. Dear TVS, I need a quick resolution to my issue. Please Help

Performance King, But Old Look Was Better

"Apache RTR 160 4V ka performance aur features 2025 model mein bahut hi badiya ho gaye hain, jaise TFT display aur traction control jo pehle kabhi is segment mein nahi the. Lekin honestly mujhe iska new headlight design pasand nahi aaya. 2024 wala headlight zyada sporty aur aggressive look deta tha. Agar TVS purana headlight design continue karta to aur perfect hota. Overall bike best hai apni class mein, par looks thoda aur better ho sakte the."

Apache RTR 160 4V is a very bad bike to maintain. And every time an engine problem comes I don't like the Apache RTR 160 4v, the bike breaks down. Last year, I have been repairing the engine I am riding 15000 km again, encountering problems with the engine. The clutch and gears are causing many issues. I am not satisfied with this bike.

I owned this bike for the last 5 years plus I have not been satisfied with this bike since purchased This is one of the worst decisions of my life at first dealer sold me a defective bike I was excited because I had not checked the bike's body so the dealer sold me a broken bike.I have been facing mileage issues since from first day I changed the Air filter at every service and put TVS authorized engine oil but still getting 25-28 kmpl due to this I haven't used this bike very much so till now I have driven it only 28865.4 kmDue to some reason, I can not sell this.
