Honda plans to discontinue a few motorcycles in 2020 when the BS-IV to BS-VI transition takes place. The CB Unicorn 160 is likely to be one of them. 

We usually don’t have a lot of siblings to have a rivalry with, in the lower segments, but Honda now has a virtual smorgasbord of choices should you be in the market for a 150cc motorcycle from Big Red.

Honda India has equipped the CB Unicorn 160 with automatic headlight on (AHO) feature. This feature will be a must for all new two-wheelers when the regulation kicks in on April 2017. 

Honda has introduced the BSIV-compliant version of the CB Unicorn 160 at Rs 73,481 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This update along with new paint schemes has bumped the price of the 160cc commuter by Rs 1,700.

The CB Unicorn 160 which was launched two years ago has seen drastic reduction in sales. The company sold only 751 units in November 2016. 

September has been a good month for the Indian motorcycle market. With the festive season and healthy monsoon bringing a positive outlook among buyers, the industry saw some interesting changes in sales numbers. Here are the motorcycles which made the most of the festive season and the ones who failed to capitalise on the opportunity.

The Honda CB Unicorn 160 was launched in December 2014. This motorcycle from Honda has maintained an average sales figure of 13,000 units a month through 2015. However, in the beginning of 2016, the sales figures for the Unicorn 160 took a drastic turn and the motorcycle company saw very low sales figures until last month.

The older tried and tested Honda Unicorn 150cc model has proved to be four times more successful than the Unicorn 160cc which is newer and more efficient in almost every way. The 160 replaced the ever successful 150. But, Honda had to relaunch the 150 because of the declining sales of the 160 and the market share Honda was losing in the segment.

Honda recently unveiled new technical and cosmetic upgrades for select two-wheelers at the 2016 Auto Expo. The updated range includes CB Unicorn 160, CD 110 Dream Deluxe, Dream Neo and the Dio. 

Honda pleasantly surprised everyone today as they made two big announcements at the 2016 Auto Expo today. While the first was the grand unveiling of the Navi, the second big news is that the Honda Africa Twin will soon be launched in India as a locally assembled model.
