for city use, but you should keep expectations realistic about mileage and long-term refinement. For city commuting, daily rides, younger riders wanting style + decent performance: it’s a strong choice. If your priority is top-class fuel economy, long highway rides, or premium build and zero issues, then you might want to compare alternatives (or wait for after-sales feedback).Important: When buying, always check for variant (ABS vs non-ABS), take a test ride, check dealership service history, and maybe inspect after a few thousand kms for issues.

Fun to ride

It's been a year I'm riding this bike and its so fun to ride it. The stability is on point, mileage is so good its giving 50 to 55 kmpl in traffic. Seat is little bit hard i heard they improved it in the newer version. The LED screen is little bit dim under harsh sky light and sometimes gear slips. Service is good.

After a week of purchasing...bike making noise and pickup power downgrades within 15 days.Only for single commuters....with pillion feels like bike is taking load ... Bluetooth is not working properly...gears stuck in between driving...Not a good driving posture for long route driving.... Hero stores are not that supportive. Will not provide helmets as it is not covered in the price of bike(although it is compulsory as per govt rules).

Is Zero Extreme 125R the Dark Horse of the 125 cc Segment Or Just a Hype?
Prithiraj Chakraborty
I bought my Hero Xtreme 125R in June 2024, and after over a year of riding, I’ve seen both its strengths and its flaws. It’s a bike that impresses at first glance but reveals some rough edges with time.Design & LooksThe Xtreme 125R is easily one of the most striking bikes in its class. Its sharp tank design, aggressive stance, and sporty road presence make it look like a higher-segment machine. It’s genuinely one of the most stylish 125cc bikes on Indian roads, especially appealing to younger riders who value looks as much as performance.Ride Quality & EngineRide quality is stable and comfortable, and the engine feels smooth, though not quite as refined as Hero’s horizontal-engine models. Acceleration is solid for its class, and when new, the bike could touch around 115–117 km/h, which is impressive for a 125cc. After a year, though, I noticed a slight drop in performance—the engine feels a bit rough when pushed hard but remains dependable for daily commutes.Comfort & HandlingThe seat is well-padded and comfortable, but the riding posture puts pressure on the palms during long rides. Handling is where the Xtreme 125R shines. It feels nimble, balanced, and fun to flick through city traffic. The light steering and solid road grip make it enjoyable for everyday riding.Brakes & ABSBraking has been the most disappointing part of my ownership. From day one, the front brake and ABS system felt inconsistent. Instead of smooth, progressive braking, the ABS would intermittently engage and disengage, creating a pulsating or jerky sensation through the lever. It often felt like the brakes were alternately gripping and releasing, which made controlled braking difficult and even unsettling at higher speeds.Despite several visits to my local Hero service centre, I was repeatedly told the issue was “normal.” Only after raising a complaint with Hero’s headquarters did they replace the front disc plate, which worked perfectly—for a day. Within a few rides, the issue returned. I eventually got it checked at a local workshop, which made it slightly better, but never perfect.Lights, Features & MaintenanceThe headlight throw is weak, making night rides less comfortable. The fuel gauge often displays inaccurate readings, usually stuck at one bar, which can be frustrating. On the bright side, maintenance costs are low, and running the bike is easy on the pocket.Service ExperienceThe service quality at my local Hero centre has been poor. Most technicians seemed undertrained and unable to properly diagnose or fix issues. While service quality might differ by location, my experience was far from satisfying.VerdictThe Hero Xtreme 125R is undeniably one of the best-looking 125cc bikes in India. It offers good performance, stable ride quality, and great handling. However, it’s let down by braking issues and inconsistent service support. If you treat it as what it truly is—a stylish commuter, not a performance machine—it delivers a pleasant, efficient, and comfortable ride. Ride it sensibly, maintain it well, and it won’t disappoint.Tip for Buyers: The Xtreme 125R is ideal for daily riders who want style, practicality, and affordability in one package. Just don’t mistake it for a high-performance bike. Hero, however, needs to refine its brake quality and service experience to match this bike’s fantastic design.

Mileage issues And Gear Shifting Issues
Prathamesh Hinukale
I purchased the Xtreme 125r Single Seat in July 2025. I genuinely have a very bad experience with this bike, the worst bike in my life, The company claimed 66km mileage, but this gives only 45km. I have completed 2 services, but gear shifting issues still have not been resolved. Don't buy the Xtreme 125r, go for FZS VI4 or Pulsar 125.

Worst bike, don't buy

Don't buy this bike and don't waste your money and time on believing this worst company. This bike has many issues: gear-related problems, engine noise, and motion issues. Please don't buy this bike, and don't waste your money and time. These issues are not solvable by Hero people, so please don't buy this bike. Hero service people are the worst in providing service, and sales people are very good in cheating people day by day. Hero Motorcycles is non non-trustworthy brand.

WORST Bike I ever seen
Vikas A S
This bike has the worst engine. I bought it 5 months ago and have driven only 6,000 km. It has frequent shutting-off issues, gear problems, engine noise, and motion issues. Please don’t buy this bike — it’s a complete waste of money. The Hero service team keeps my bike for 3–4 days every time and then says, “The issue is resolved, sir,” but nothing ever gets fixed. It’s a useless bike from a useless company. If you buy this bike, be ready to spend most of your time at the service center.
