Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Honda will be unveiling a special edition named ‘Dare to be Different CBR1000RR Fireblade’ at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed to mark the silver anniversary of the legendary motorcycle. First launched in 1992, the bike was designed by Honda designer Tadao Baba who emphasised his obsession to deliver a motorcycle with low weight. Back then the motorcycle was powered by an 893cc engine which generated about 122bhp of power.

A Honda engineer has told international media that the company is working to make its DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission) technology suitable for sports bikes. Currently, the DCT is available on the NC750X, VFR1200F and Africa Twin but Honda will soon feature it on their sports models.

Honda has launched a special edition BSB Replica Fireblade priced at GBP 13,499 (Rs 13.59 lakh). This replica of the British Superbike Championship racebike will be produced in a limited run of just 50 units and costs GBP 1,300 (Rs 1.30 lakh) over the price of the standard bike. 

John McGuiness has reclaimed his title in the Senior TT class of the Isle of Man TT, setting an outright lap record for the mountain course in the process. The 43-year-old Brit recorded an average speed of 213.56kmph, beating the previous record set by Ian Hutchinson by a mere 0.648kmph.
