It was amazing bike developed by hero special thanks to hero making such a beautiful bike for beginners as well intermediate. It gives lot of confidence while riding but one thing is missing in this bike that gear position indicator which is more important for beginners as well as any one, so i hope hero will consider this make this change very soon again thanks to hero motorcorp for providing us a beautiful bike in the segment.

  • Go for Xtreme if this is your budget, don't go for overrated bikes like rtr and ns

    Chetan J T

I bought this twin disc bike for 138653 on road price.. Zero problems until now approaching close to 4000 kms.. Beast in its price segment, reliability by hero, decent mileage of 45 km/l.. Added feature of side stand indicator is my favorite.. Best thing is the long ride runs.. Can cruise at 90s with ease and no back pain.. For me it beats the competitors in RTR 160 (relatively lesser mileage) and NS 160 (outdated looks)

I love my bike Xtreme 160 r. Riding this bike is awesome feeling. The performance of bike in terms of mileage is 40+. On high way it's 45 approx. The max speed that I have used while riding this bike is 105 km/h. So no need to think much about this bike. Its cool experience. The sound of xtreme bike is totally different than other hero bikes.

Nice Bike in 160CC segment....Looks Are little af...And Mid Range Performance is dope. Apache Is better Performance wise but Headlight and indicator in hero Pushed me towards it....And also First month sale which is 6000 or more...again hero proved it that ...it is the only king in market...Go and Buy if you are going for 160cc segment because there are lots of Apache and NS on roads..so go for unique one...

  • Hero xtreme 160 rs first impression & ownership experience

    Adesh Shrivastava

I waited for more than 8 months for this. I remember, it launched in Feb 2020 and then due to pandemic it went in showrooms around july-aug and then shortage of supply. I literally sway by its design which is totally resemble from its prototype and way ahead than its competitors and its loaded with features.
I went for test ride and for 5 minutes straight i was just overwhelmed by its designs. First thing, i noticed its low seat height which is cushy and feels like sitting on couch. Sitting position is not committed though balance between sporty and commuter and you will not feel strained in elbow on long journey. Front transformer like led headlight, all led blinkers with hazard function and smoked h insignia lamp is dope & cherry on the cake with negative Lcd meter with plenty of information with clock, accelerometer, 2 trip meter, service indicator, & side stand indicator. Handle bar is straight and comes with single switch to on/off which is nifty feature to have. Regarding switch quality, it can be better. Illumination switch would be great addition. The visibility in mirror could be better nevertheless acceptable. Taking about the paint and the level of detailing, here i am not that satisfied with hero. Quality of paint can be better on the mudguard, frame though happy with the selection of color scheme like grey metal on alloy wheels and exhaust. Tail section’s & pillion footrest matt finish.
Enough of design language, lets talk about its heart which pump out 15.2 ps power at 7500 rpm & 14 nm of torque at 6500 rpm which is air cooled 2 valve head. You must be wondering in its segment mostly bike went for 4v and this still on 2 v. Well, i was also thinking the same why they opt for 2v instead of 4v and moreover, curious about the difference of performance in real time. But all my inferiority went off when i rode it. Believe me, don’t go by specs sheet it all boiled down to the connection and the compatibility when you ride it. I noticed, its engine is so refined that i just pulled throttle and its touched 80 kmph in no time. As it was my first ride, what i felt that clutch lever was outreach for me though i have long hand and foot position is slightly backward and break is short. I also hop on pillion sheet to experience comfort. Its better for youth i must say as its pillion seat is on higher side and would not be better for pillion for long ride moreover, pillion need to be get used to integrated grab rails. Breaking duty done by niffin 276 mm at front and 220 at rear. Its has adequate breaking power along with abs in front. Checked abs couple of time just to experience and worked flawlessly. Talking about its exhaust note, it has chunky underbelly cum side exhaust which sounds so refined on low and high rpm. That about my first ride experience. I was so excited that i forgot to test autosail.
Taking about my ownership experience, its been more than 1.5 yrs. now and i have clocked 5730 km and 5 services done. So far, no issues occur, had done quite frequent run to agra or Gwalior. I had done solo as well as ride with pillion, for long ride. Engine pulls strongly to 80-90 then take sometime to achieve top speed, there i felt lack of 6th gear and need of 4-valve so that engine can breathe more freely. Nevertheless, it shows no sign of stress & vibration till 80 kmph around 4500 or 5000 rpm. Reviving more than that had business on foot pedal, tank and mirror. Instead of 100 section tyre in front and radial 130 section in rear, it maneuver like a charm. Definitely benefited by low curb weight, shorter wheelbase, light weight alloy wheels which makes it a lord of city .
tackling cliché corner is no challenge as steering is light and predictable. Thanks to stiff chassis and showa front 37mm telescopic shocker and back with monoshock 7 way adjustable. Back to city ride, autosail is boon in bumper to bumper traffic. I usually rode when returning to gym and work flawlessly. Basically what ecu does is, maintain the speed which is required to crawl in every gear so bike does not stall. Taking riding experience in night, it has led headlight and blinker and illumination is decent, wish it could be better.
Thinks i wonder, it would have which makes it unbeatable in its segment.
1.Wonder to get the same glossy- matt grey color scheme which is fulfilled by release of xtreme stealth edition.
    2. Gear positioning indicator which is now there is xtreme stealth edition.
    3. Lap timer just like apache.
    4. Limiter restricted to 9500 rpm which is 11000rpm in apache, wish it could be higher for top speed.
    5. Bluetooth connectivity just like new fz
    6. Wave key just like apache.
    7. Adjustable level
    8. Oil cooler engine
    9. Addition of 6th gear.
    10. Front suspension with more travel as it make sound hitting potholes or speed-breaker.
    Engine guard.
11.Geniuine accessories option like saddle bag or an option to set up for touring, windshield etc.(some accessories are there on hero website)
    Live up with some compromises:
1.Poor quality of switches and front meter cover
    2. Rusting on pillion rack & silencer
    3. Front shocker travel less which quite evident on bumpy roads.
    4. No easy access for battery, need to open tank cover.
    5. Getting used to pillion seat.
    6. Segment first features including stealth edition.
    7. All led setup & smoked back light.
    8. Side stand cut off(it there in fz)
    9. Led instrument cluster(there in fz)
    10. Radial tyres(there in new apache hp)
    11. Integrated grab rail: enhance style quotient
    12. Hazard lamp(still not there in any bike of its segment)
    13. Integrated on/off single switch
    14. Brightness control of instrument cluster.
    15. Kick

  • Bike chain is too much noise. I am very frustrated with that noise.

    Aditya Vaishnav

The buying experience was good and the riding experience also good if you'll ride 50km less. Look and Performance is awesome. But the service is not good and maintenance is low. Bike chain sprocket is too much noise. I am very frustrated with that noise. This is a big con of xtream160r.

    Tips for other riders

For getting attractive mileage go with speed range of 45-60 till reached 2500. Don't cross speed limits and RPM more than 4500. And don't do sudden acceleration. And at the time of sudden breaking put down gear top to down by applying slow acceleration for each down shifting. Otherwise you can't shift properly.

Good price, Awesome to ride both in on and off road just adjust the monoshock to 7th position Futuristic look and the handling is awesome the power is enough for daily use as well as tours. Service prices is cheap. The only cons i feel is that it could get a big engine and quality of fitting can be better.

    1. Clean and lube chain every 250-300 kms. 2. Check Tyre pressure once/twice every month as if any tyre puncture or low pressure results in dropping mileage.

The buying experience was good and the riding experience also good if you'll ride 50km less. Look and Performance is awesome. But the service is not good and maintenance is low. Bike chain sprocket is too much noise. I am very frustrated with that noise. This is a big con of xtream160r.

And at the time of sudden breaking put down gear top to down by applying slow acceleration for each down shifting. Otherwise you can't shift properly.

    15. Kick
