Hero Motors has bagged the contract to manufacture transmission components for Ducati – the Italian bike maker. 

You read it right! Erik Buell Racing is back in action. The company recently posted a news on their official Facebook page talking about the plans of its new bikes. 

Hero MotoCorp’s royalty payment to its ex-partner Honda is expected to end soon. Hero has to pay royalty to Honda for four products – the Maestro, Passion X Pro, Ignitor and the Impulse. 

The Duet has overtaken the Maestro and Maestro Edge to become Hero MotoCorp’s most popular scooter in India. Hero MotoCorp sold 39,271 units of the Duet in April 2016, narrowly missing out on the 40,000 mark.

Hero MotoCorp has given impetus to its Greenovation strategy by unveiling the Duet E at the 2016 Auto Expo. While it is still in an early concept phase, the Duet E represents Hero MotoCorp's commitment towards eco-friendly mobility solutions. 

The Hero Duet is India’s largest two-wheeler maker’s attempt at taking its scooter sales to the next level. And like the Maestro Edge, the Duet too has shrugged off Honda's technology and is a completely home grown Hero MotoCorp offering. So, it was back to the drawing board and out came a completely new platform and powertrain. Positioned between the masculine Maestro and the effeminate Pleasure, the Hero Duet is a brand new unisex family scooter, charged with the responsibility of boosting Hero' sales in the burgeoning scooter segment.

Hero MotoCorp has sold over 10 lakh units over the month-long festive season starting from Navratri. The largest manufacturer of two wheelers in the world registered an 11 per cent growth over the corresponding period last year.

Hero MotoCorp has launched the Duet scooter for the Indian market at Rs 48,400 (ex-showroom Bangalore) for the LX version. The VX version that gets additional features will retail for Rs 49,900 (ex-showroom Bangalore).
