    Destini Prime Pros and Cons

    • Good Things

      • Overall styling is quite nice
      • Equipped with USB charging, under seat light
      • 125cc engine churns out good fuel-efficiency
    • Could be Better

      • Overall quality could have been better
      • Misses out on alloy wheels

    BikeWale's Take

The Destini Prime from Hero MotoCorp is an affordable 125cc scooter that was launched to cater to buyers who don't want to spend a lot. This scooter gets all the necessary performance and features and is also priced quite well. But it misses out on alloy wheels and the overall cycle parts could have been better too.

overall the vehicle is good value of money when you buy but later leaving you in scary risky situations

It is difficult to find the parts of their own Hero company parts, there is no availability of any part you ask for even the basic ones.
so you tend to be afraid if any breakdown or any part gets damaged or stops working there are high chances you will have to just keep waiting.
e.g. their parts like the fuel lid, got damaged within 6 months of purchase, and it is not available
A screw under the headlight (which they forgot to put in the service centre by mistake itself during service) got lost by them and was not available for at least 2 months risking the mudguard to get loose forever.
The starting problem issue was from the 1st month itself but whenever you visit the service centre they say the battery is healthy but still till date, I face a starting issue which is never acknowledged by their service centre people.
similarly any accessories you ask for its never available in any of their showroom or service centres

Cheapest and powerful 125cc scooter with poor reliability

        Arpan

I bought Hero Destiny prime 125 scooter because it was priced below Rs 90000 onboard Mumbai.Hence, it is the cheapest 125 cc scooter in India.
Destiny Prime is fun to ride scooter with 9 bhp power. The engine feels smooth but body fit and finish is poor with Inconsistent Panel gaps like Tata cars.
Also engine components like accelerator cable is poor quality.clutch components are poor that they wear out easily. In 4000 km Clutch gasket wore out causing lag in performance. Also, the service centre charged for this gasket instead of replacing it at free of cost in warranty.
On 8000 km my scooter clutch got burned out on heavy traffic.
I got it repaired from my local garage since spare parts are not easily at the Hero Service center.
Every time you run the scooter. There is jerk from clutch hence clutch needs servicing while doing Destiny prime servicing.
Apart from clutch my Destiny prime accelerator cable snapped on 10000
km.Which I got the original cable replaced at Local Garage.
Since Destiny prime is the cheapest 125 cc scooter hence it has poor quality engine and body parts.
Even when I tried to refill the petrol. The Petrol tank flap was not opening as tank cable snapped. That too within 8 months of purchase.
Even my scooter's body parts got cracked easily without any impact or accident.
I also sourced from local garage and online since service centre is useless.
Any parts you ask from service centre be it fuel tank cap cable, accelerator cable or any body parts.
Nothing is available at the service center.
The service centre says it will take more than 15 days to come.
Don't go by Hero Motor brand name and go for Hero scooter thinking it is as reliable as Honda scooter with easy availability of spare parts like Honda Activa and Maruti Suzuki.
If you want new petrol scooter at the price of a used scooter, then buy Hero Destiny but at the cost of poor reliability and spare parts support.

It is a very good scooty as per mileage , comfort and outlook. Worth value for money and overall performance is also very good. Good looking and dashing ride with comfort and feel happy while driving. Long drive performance is excellent and the sound is very silent to enjoy the ride. The Hero Destini Prime is praised as a comfortable, reliable, and budget-friendly 125cc scooter, ideal for city commuting, offering good mileage (around 40-60 kmpl) thanks to its i3S start-stop tech, easy handling, and spacious seat for two, though it features basic drum brakes and lacks premium features like alloy wheels, making it a strong value-for-money choice for everyday practicality over high-end tech.

This scooter is highly underrated. While the performance is at par or we can say better than it's other 125cc segment competitors. This is a good scooter, while other bikes price can go upto Rs. 1.25 Lakhs this scooter can offer you the same power at feature under Rs. 1 Lakh. I had purchased the bike through Amazon and delivered by a local Dealer hence I got a chance to get cash back. Don't think twice and go for it.

My Honest Review of the Hero Destini Prime 🛵

        Piyush Mittal

I’ve been riding my Hero Destini Prime for a few months now, and I think I’m in a good position to tell you how it actually feels to live with it. Spoiler: it’s not perfect, but it’s definitely worth money.
        Looks & First Impressions
When I first saw it in the showroom, I liked that it didn’t scream for attention. It’s simple, clean, and doesn’t have those flashy graphics you get on some scooters. I went for the Nobel Red colour and it still turns heads in a subtle way. Build feels decent — not super premium, but no obvious cheap bits either.
        Performance & Ride
It’s a 125 cc scooter, so I wasn’t expecting sports‑bike performance, but honestly, for city traffic, it’s more than enough. The pickup is smooth, and I’ve never felt short of power while overtaking auto‑rickshaws or slow trucks.
On bad Delhi roads, the suspension does a decent job. Small potholes are handled fine, but bigger ones will remind you you’re on a budget scooter. The ride is comfortable for me and my wife — the seat is soft, and there’s enough space for both.
        Fuel Efficiency
This is where it surprised me. With Hero’s i3S start‑stop feature, I’ve been getting around 40–45 km/l in city traffic. On a relaxed highway ride, it touched 62 km/l once, which is crazy good. The external fuel cap makes refuelling quick without getting off.
        Brakes & Handling
This is one area I wish were better. It comes with drum brakes on both ends. They work fine for daily use, but in sudden braking situation,s you’ll feel the difference compared to disc brakes. Handling is light — I can weave through traffic easily and even park it in tight spots without much effort.
        Features I Like
Semi‑digital speedo with trip meter and service reminder
USB charging port under the seat (handy when your phone’s dying)
Boot light for finding stuff at night
LED position lamps for a slightly modern touch
        Things I Don’t Like
Drum brakes only, no disc option
The halogen headlamp isn’t the brightest at night
No alloy wheels on this variant — steel wheels feel a bit old‑school
One time, after the first service, it stalled randomly — the service centre fixed it, but it did shake my confidence a bit
        Verdict
If you just want a reliable, easy‑to‑ride scooter that won’t burn a hole in your pocket every time you refuel, the Destini Prime is a strong choice. It’s not feature‑loaded like the Xtec, but you’re paying less, and you still get the essentials.
        Would I recommend it?
Yes— if your priorities are fuel efficiency, comfort, and affordability.
No— if you want premium features, alloys, or the safest possible braking.

        Meghdoot

The comfort is too good for pillion riders. Additionally, multiple articles can be placed in front of the seat; however, the boot space can be enhanced. Fuel economy is far better in the 125 CC segment. Felt comfortable at potholes as well. However, ultimately, it is a scooter, so don't expect the comfort of Bikes in road potholes; however, it's better than other scooters.

overall the vehicle is good value of money when you buy but later leaving you in scary risky situations

        Amit

        Imon

I have owned this scooter for about around 6 months and after 1 service this scooter has a very dangerous problem of switching off automatically while running. I have visited the service centre to repair the Problem more the 3 or 4 times in this time period have got no fix from the company as when they take it for a test ride it does not switch off automatically. Just trying to not fix it.
