Bought apache rtr 160 4v after 1.5 years back. Since then bike never really ran smoothly even for straight 2 months. There is always issue with some of the parts of this bike. Disc break issue, engine issue, losing pick-up suddenly in the middle of highway (which could be very fatal), clutch issue and everything above all replacement of silencer. Faced all these issues hardly within 1 year of bike purchase. I had so much faith in apache series but that trust no longer exists.

The apache rtr 4v 160 cc is a below average bike for me. Delivery by local retailer is good with free standard services. I am going to buy honda hornet first but some colleges gave me more positives views to go with apache than hornet. So i put money on this bike. From second day i am not happy with apache rtr 160 4v due to its handling and braking. Handling of this bike for only short height riders, so tall riders never buy apache. Braking is also not good in rtr 160 4v and i escape from accident. If i talk about looks, it is on fair side. The sporty race strip on tank, side petrol fill cap is eye catching and feel of sporty bike in first instance. Performance is normal as i expect much more. Bike is quick and smooth on plain road but when i put bike in off road it starts annoying me to made proper balance on it. It catches speed in few seconds on highways but on city side it is some difficult to drive with million rider.Service by local dealer is good and on time delivered. Bike got 3rd tvs service and delivers 36 km/ liter in city and near to 39 km/ liter on highway.Pros:*new generation bike who wants sporty look.*good quick pickup and for top speed lovers.*copy of rtr 200 4v in low price tag.*hassle free service from tvs local dealer.Cons:*big no for tall riders.*handling, riding and braking needs improvement.*lower side mileage.

If you're looking for a 160cc segment bike which gives you all the required features, best in class performance, a reasonable mileage and top notch looks then apache rtr 160 4v should end your hunt. This is my first tvs bike and i'm a big fan of their brand now. I simply went into the tvs showroom after reading the specs online but was a bit suspicious as i wanted to buy a hornet but it was out of stock. But it all went away soon. I have always trusted my instincts in cases of confusion and again it didn't let me down. First thing that i'll remember about my bike is it was standing right outside the showroom as if waiting for me to take it home. Standing all washed up and clean, i really liked the build and shine. The sales guy prateek asked me to take a test ride. I took it out and woah just a tap on the power button and it went vroom+du-dug. The sound impressed me immediately. The ride was short as metro work in pune didn't allow me to unleash it fully. But i was impressed again with the handling, suspension, gear shift and sound of it. I went in and took it home. The guys at the dealership were humble and professional both. Next thing you know, what you need is a prompt service and low maintenance. Tvs service is really best in class and they really take your concerns seriously no matter how you initiate it(web, mail, call) and their express service option is so good. I got my first service done in like 40 minutes. It's been 6 months and i still feel touched everytime my bike goes on. I have no issues with the performance. The bs6 fi engine and gtt really suit the daily commute but its much more than that and really adapts to all the modes. When asked it will give you the adrenaline too. I have unleashed it quite a few times on the mumbai-bangalore highway and i haven't faced any struggle when speeding up. So you know its got a lot of power packed in. And the most interesting fact, a 160cc racing bike giving you a mileage of 52kmpl. (consider pune traffic too) the mileage might drop on regular commutes in traffic but it will still stay above 45kmpl i can promise. And the gtt feature let's you woosh past others in traffic with minimum acceleration. To sum it up for a buyer, tvs is giving you everything there is in market in this 160cc racing bike with prompt service and relatively low maintenance(among 160cc bikes). They are giving you "everything" is the point here.Don't feel low if you don't get the gps feature like the 200cc one here as it hardly makes any difference. The price went a bit high in the past few weeks but people should still buy it. It's a great deal here. And the pride of buying a "made in india" product will always be high due to the tricolor sticker on the head.
