One of the best bike in it's segment, it comes with performance as well as mileage and we can use it for daily usage also with it's fuel injection technology it can consume less amount of fuel comparatively to carburettor. I ll suggest it, because we can use as sporty model, as well as for family purpose.

    1. Buying experience - after a lot of research i decided to go with yamaha fz-s fi ver 2.0. My very first impression for the showroom is not that impressive. Pearl yamaha gachibowli showroom does not go with the brand name yamaha. Customer handling service is not as smooth as other competitors are providing. Waited for 4 days after booking. Delivery delayed 2 days from the committed date. Overall it was not a pleasant experience.2. Riding experience - this bike is having split sit, riders sit it is not so comfortable for long rides. Handling is best among all others in this segment. This bike is having best in class riding experience at the speed range of 60 to 85 kmph, it is smooth as silk at moderate to high speeds but at lower rpm it is annoying to ride this bike as it's engine sounds pretty awkward at the lower speed. This bike is obviously not known for the pick-up as it does not have enough power to compete in this area with others in the same segment. Overall average riding experience.3. This bike is built up with most aggressive aerodynamics and muscular design in 150 cc segment. The look is so sporty and quality of switches, bulbs, and fiber material is quite good. The overall design is impressive. Tail lamp is boring and doesn't go well with the overall design of the bike. Performance is up to the maintenance of the bike but you should not expect a racing experience with this 149 cc commuter bike. Throttle response is average, pick-up is not impressive, fuel injection technology is an add-on, mileage is approx 40-45 kmpl initially at busy city rides. Headlights are great, led meter panel is worst as petrol indicator always mislead you. The clutch is soft, gears can be softer, front disk brake is enough capable but rear drum brake is drastically paralyzed as either it will make the noise a lot but can only be used as speed controller as it alone can not stop the bike. Overall riding is ok to fine.4. Servicing and maintenance - yamaha needs to improve in this segment a lot. Service centers are pathetic. Yamaha provides you 6 free services which are almost useless as you have to pay 600-800 rs every-time you go for service. Mechanics don't give any attention to the faults you are facing on your bike. Oil change, chain cleaning and bike wash is the only thing they do as service. You will again face a lot of difficulty in finding slots for your service booking, there will be always long queue again after slot booking you have to wait at the service center for 30 mins to 1 hour for the service guys to come and register your bike for servicing. Do not go for yamaha if you are a person with less patience and get irritated so easily because they will examine all this every time you go their showroom or service center. This bike does not require much maintenance still you may face issues with led panel, rear brake, front mask, and indicators often, which requires bit more attention for a happy ride.5. Pros : yamaha brand name, handling, mileage, aggressive looks, re-sell value, quality build cons : pick-up, rear drum brake, service centers, low power especially at lower rpms.

The buying experience of this bike for me is not much to talk about, i always do a lot of online research before buying anything. So when i bought this bike (jan 2015), the other option i had was suzuki gixxer. And i liked the fz-s more for its looks. So i was sure that i want the fz-s. Talking about riding experience, the bike feels beautiful to ride. Also, my pillion riders have always talked about how much they love the suspension on it. (i can't talk about that since this is my first bike, so i have no experience of how good or bad the suspension on this is compared to others). So yeah, the suspension on this is super awesome. The bike is heavy, it makes the riding experience even more blissful. I have taken the bike for 300 km long rides across highways and ghats and it's a pleasure. Cornering, leaning is all good thanks to the confidence offered by the bike. Now, looks. You can't deny how beautiful it looks! it definitely looks better than the gixxer. My favourite colour is the astral blue. That blue and black combination looks best according to me but i think it's no longer available in that exact colour. The rear tyre hugger, which a lot of people don't like and get removed is also very useful during rains. And i have never thought of getting it removed, i just love the bike the way it is. Performance of the bike is as you'd expect from it. The engine is powerful and has a good pick up. Strong mid range, on the top range, it doesn't feel that strong thought. I've taken the bike to a speed of 119 kmph and i could take it further but i had to slow down for the road condition ahead. Even at such speeds, the bike is very stable and balanced. No vibrations or anything of that sort. Another thing to talk about is the mileage! trust me, fuel injector does make a big difference in the mileage department. Also, it feels different when you ride a bike with fuel injector. It feels more clean. And even after 3 years of use, i still get 43-45 kmpl of mileage so make it a point to buy a bike with fuel injector whenever you want to buy a bike. Yamaha provides a year of free service. I have never had to really waste a lot of money on the maintenance of this bike, i think yamaha bikes are durable. I just did the recommended servicing from time to time. Now i wanna talk about what i don't like. The first thing is the instrument cluster. Even though people will say it's a good one, it gives good visibility, i don't like it because it lacks a good design and a clock and gear indicator. Also, the light could have been white instead of amber. Still thankful to yamaha for providing a trip meter.Next is, the lack of led lighting. I wish at least the indicator lights were led. Paying 95 thousand and not getting those things was really upsetting. Also they could add a hazard light switch. The last thing that i hate about the bike is the lack of disc brake at the rear. The rear drum break is almost useless to me, i find myself relying mostly on the front disc brake for stopping the bike. But yes, when you use both in combination, i can say that the braking has helped me save my life in several dangerous situations. The front brake is very reliable. So that was my review, i hope it'll help you in making your purchase decision. Mine was the perfect one i'd say, because i just love my yamaha fz-s v2.0 so much. The things i don't like that i mentioned still can be overlooked as they're not really big things to consider. I hope you liked my review.

Buying experience : bought for rupees 87000/-,good compact bike with a hint of sporty look and a we'll balanced city ride.I would highly recommend for daily commute in and around city.Tends to gets bit hard, noisy and uneasy on long drives.Build quality is good but due to usage of polycarbonate parts a lot tend be damage prone.Needs to improve in that area.Servicing of bike costs u around 3500 rupees per year.

  • More power to yamaha fzs v2.0 fi could have been better..

    Ganesh Pardeshi

It's been 1 years for my bike. I bought it because of a racing styling. And had never thought of touring. My first long route touring was from pune to bhopal approx. 950 km.

But being only having 5 gears,, i found my fzs v2.0 to be very under-power. The throttle response is not upto the mark. Could have been better.

  • Almost the perfect decision that you make with your money

    Vishal Khedkar

Just do the recommend servicing that your supposed to do, as mentioned in the bike's manual. Replace engine oil every 6000 kms and clean the full injector too.
