TVS was established by T. V. Sundaram Iyengar. He was born in 1877 in Thirukkurungudi in the Tirunelveli district of Madras Presidency, British India. He began with Madurai's first bus service in 1911 and founded T.V.Sundaram Iyengar and Sons Limited, a company in the transportation business with a large fleet of trucks and buses under the name of Southern Roadways Limited.

When he died in 1955, his sons took the company ahead with several forays in the automobile sector, including finance, insurance, and manufacture of two-wheelers, tyres and components.
The south Indian company set up a plant at Hosur in 1978, to manufacture mopeds as part of their new division. In 1980, TVS 50, India's first two-seater moped rolled out of the factory at Hosur in Tamil Nadu.

Soon after, TVS and Suzuki tied up to have a 19-year-long relationship which was aimed at technology transfer, to enable design and manufacture of two-wheelers specifically for the Indian market. Renamed TVS-Suzuki, the company brought out several models such as the Suzuki Samurai, Suzuki Shogun and Suzuki Fiero. In 2001, after separating ways with Suzuki, the company was renamed TVS Motor.

In early 2015, TVS Racing became the first Indian factory team to take part in the Dakar rally, which is one of the longest and most dangerous rallies in the world. TVS Racing partnered with French motorcycle manufacturer Sherco for the Dakar rally, and named the team Sherco TVS Rally Factory Team.

The company has four manufacturing plants - three located in India (Hosur, Tamil Nadu; Mysore, Karnataka and Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh) and one in Indonesia (Karawang).

The buying experience was seamless. Riding experience I'd say amazing and the pickup is very quick and the balance I'd say better than any other 125cc scooter. Maintenance and service are fast at the service station. Pros - pick up and quality and its durability and the parts are easily available. Cons- mileage

This was my first bike bought in 2019 it's really amazing and worth the price the digital instrumental cluster is the main reason I loved it, I am not a daily driver but whenever I drive I enjoy this bike the power, the punchiness its an instant reaction which feels very torquey low-end power is great as compared to high end I have clocked 134 kmph and on avg, I am getting mileage of 38-39 mixed conditions in city and highway, the service experience is not so good bike feels more reliable never got any instant issue with it just worth buying will strongly recommend you buy

If Tvs will provide double gear shifter option the sales Ronin will bost
    3 weeks ago
    Mohd Nisar
The bike is very good in terms of looks and mileage but there is just a problem with the bike gear shifting pedal. TVS Ronin just has a single-gear shifter pedal the problem with the single-gear shifter pedal is the shoes of the rider tear very fast all cruiser bikes give a double-gear shifter pedal for rider comfort while shifting gears. If TVs provides double gear shifter pedal variant in the future the sales of Ronin will boost and break the sales records of all cruiser bikes because many riders will shift to another company bike due to only offering a single gear shifter pedal in Ronin
