Shock absorber is not good, driving seat position is not at all good with latest 180cc it's hurting the palm, wrist and hand joints, he changed the front foot rest and rear break position towards little back side so the bikers position falling towards front side on the handle so the palm, wrist and hands joins getting pain a lot u can't ride for long drives

    Tips for other riders

I bought the bike 20 days back, the bike pickup mileage is OK but the comfort is very bad, in the latest 180cc model he shifted the foot rest and rear break to little back side comparing with 150cc, so the body moment changed, the total weight is falling on the palm, wrist and joints of the hands, so getting pain a lot, my all friends who ride my bike all were saying the same thing getting pain on wrist, palm and joints of the hands, every day am feeling pain on my palm, wrist and joints of the hands for short drive only(15-20km),if I do long drive my hand joints will break, this is not a small issue it's a very big problem am totally unsatisfied now I can't return the bike also, and the shocks also not smooth while crossing speed breakers, 150cc is good, latest 180cc comfort ability is not at all good, I wasted my 10 months salary it's my first bike unsatisfied

It's a very thorough review, if you want comparisons just check final verdict at the end. I have owned this bike from quite some time now. I was thinking to buy a 150cc upgrading from 125cc bajaj bike. But due to 3k different and much better feel in riding, i opted for this. So, buying experience was quite nice. Just gave the cash and took my bike from showroom on spot (no waiting).Initial torque feels really nice, and you could get around 50 easily, which feels fine if you are riding within a city. Its bigger tyres (especially rear one) is sufficient enough to tilt it on any side. Once i felt that i am falling but the bike was supportive enough to keep me going. But on the other hand, due to its handle, it has a big turning radius. You either have to skid your tyres or reverse it a bit if you want to take a you turn in single lane.Looks are good. Although except 3d pulsar logo, everything else is sticker (in my 3 year old model at-least).Seating is a let down for me. I have push myself back to get some support for my thighs. Although, i haven't yet found a suitable bike which won't tire me from its seats (including avenger and bullet).Console feels quite dated now, its been nearly same from last few years. It surely feels like a worthy upgrade from any 150cc bike. Fz is 13bhp and its 17bhp sure does creates difference in riding "practically".It's headlamp is also able to produce enough light to be able to see at quite some distance so that you can drive at around 50 60 easily during night as well.Coming onto clutch and gear. There is definitely some problem with bajaj's clutch and gear. Nearly every bike from bajaj seems to have this issue ranging from 100cc discover, 125cc xcd, 180 and avenger. All had some issue with gears. They just get stuck and you have to apply much higher push than normal.Braking is ok ok. Rear discs would have definitely added much needed punch in bike. Also, my bike had battery issues as well. Warranty let me replace 1 battery but now there is issue in other battery as well. And since there is no kick option, bajaj should take care that battery has a better life. (it has exide's battery which is one of the best in industry but don't know why its keep getting spoiled).Maintaining this bike is absolutely cheap. Parts are cheap and easily available. But quality is also not reliable.Servicing of vehicles is joke in India. Have your own knowledge of vehicle and service its yourself. Don't fall into extended warranty trap. Just ask someone to wash it. I faced chain jamming issue because some idiot put used or may be oil with dirt due to which chain was not flowing properly. You would be lucky to find a good mechanic.Since i have mentioned all pros and cons part by part let me get to comparisons:1st option that comes to your head is apache 180, i did thought of it but then i have read so many reviews with problem in piece. I mean, i can't let luck decide whether my hard earned money was spent wisely or not (that's why we read reviews).2nd is new (or yet to be launched) avenger 180 but that has absolutely different shape and style.Other options are hornet, fz and 150. You have to make a choice between fuel and riding experience between 150 and 180. 150 has 5 10kmpl more average. Fz(s) is 1 to 5k higher priced but also has (much) higher selling value. Has much better clutch and gears along with fuel efficiency. But power and pickup is on lower end than 180.Haven't driven hornet but with specs sheet it feels to be in same proposition in as fz. Final verdict:You can try apache and pulsar if you want power and speed at this budget. Mind you wider tyre of pulsar does helps at high speeds. You should try fz/hornet if you can compromise speed n power for better reliability and selling price (hornet isn't that much popular as fz).Go for 150 if you need cheapest one and here only to read the review.Apache 160 over 150 for rear disc and looks.Happy biking!

This is my first bike bought it on 2010 and clocked above 50k. Still i used to ride banglore-chennai in this bike. Its a trade mark pulsar the best. Once changed chain sprocket and regular service is enough. I dint face any other major issue because of good maintenance. Best for family persons as well as youngsters within the budget.

Pulsar 180 was more than the 150 and matched the 220,one can beat the traffic with awesome handling and hit the flat out roads with ease, well over 100km/h. At cruising speeds over 110 the bike is still stable and trust me if you are up for a drag it will surprise you. Split seats give you comfortable seating both for rider and pillion and the best part is how the rider sits perfectly in the sweet spot. 180 had its era. A great bike

  • Drawbacks of pulsar

    Divy Patel

Here i would to share my experience on using pulsar 180. The bike is too good in riding. But it has some drawbacks. First of all the traction of bike is not good in rainy season. Next the common problem which i face is about its low average, not too low but on an average. The foremost reason behind its drawback is high level of vibration came while driving or accelerating just after putt it in gear. But apart from this the bike is too good in driving.
