  • The best bike in my life.

    Its really a expensive bike but keep it clean and do regular service as told.Once i have sawed this bike i was attracted by its finishing look and a speed of 120 km/hr.Its ground clearance is just awesome as they are big and very good as compared to other scooters.I suggest everybody to buy its race edition because it is the best in the other segment.Its exhaust is also awesome as it give the feeling of a bike.As it has a good weight it doesn't have any problem where there is faster air.Its height is more therefore it feels to me that i am sitting on a horse.Its under seat storage is also more therefore i am very happy with this bike and friends i actually have 2 aprilia's one is race and other is black and white.So i kindly request you to choose this vehicle than those other ones.Thank you!!

    I'm 18, dad gifted me the Race Edition in May 2017. It's been an awesome riding experience so far. Grabs a lot of attention, more then RE and KTM. Do not buy this colour if you aren't a confident guy. Riding it with a black smoke visored helmet makes u look cool! I ride it occasionally though cause I dislike seeking attention all the time.

  • Aprilia sr 150 - for the thrill of riding

    5 years ago

    Abin Nasar

    This is a bike which i drooled over right from the launch. Something which struck the maniac chord in me to lay my hands forever. I was owning a tvs jupiter which served my purpose of daily commute and grocery shopping. But i wanted something which had power, looks and something which would be a quick negotiator in the traffic. October 2017 the time when diwali offers were available on 2 wheeler is when i was tempted to lay my hands on the aprilia sr 150. I made couple of visits to the showroom besides forum mall in koramangala, bangalore. My first test ride on the it, gave me smiles all across my face and decided this is going to be the one. The instant pick up which the bike gives can make anybody fall in love with this bike. I had a tough time deciding upon the colour, the race version was just too colourful to me with too much of green and red stickering over the silver paint job. The black one was the one that i decided to buy but then seeing them parked outside the showroom seemed so dull and sober to me with time, which was because of the matt finish it is painted. The white one looked glossy and fresh looking to my eyes and had a bit of red and black stickering which looked sporty and class to me. But again i was willing to shell another 3k odd for the race version provided it had more power to which the showroom assistant told me everything is the same except for the colour and paint between the race and the normal version. This made me finalise on the white beauty. The diwali offer entitled me to free accessories such as the perimeter guard and the ladies foot rest. But the side stand had to be purchased separately for around 500rs odd which was not available at the time of delivery and for a week. However, the next day i took delivery of the bike and my first ever ride got me really worried as the bike was wobbling the time i took it out from the showroom to the road. I took a u turn to the showroom and enquired on it. I was told it was because of low air in the tyres. I took the bike to the closest pump filled her both air and fuel and she was rolling all well. At the time of delivery, there was a scratch on the silencer guard which they said would be replaced in the next service and the next service they didn't have that part, i am yet to get it changed on my third service now. These scratches are caused when they stack these bikes really close to each other in their storage. Please inspect your vehicle properly before they hand over.This machine is an absolute thrill to ride, be it long rides, winding hills or congested city traffic. It's an absolute breeze to ride by. Hills are negotiated with ease with the power the engine generates shaming bigger engine geared bikes as i ripped across them without the worry of changing gears on my first visit to mandi hills with my friends on duke 200 and yamaha fz. Constant 100km/h can be easily maintained on the highways without a sweat and 115km/h plus can be read on the speedo when twisted really hard. Braking is perfectly actioned on this bike with the help of the front disc brakes and drums doing duty on the rear wheels. Start stop traffic and filtering through the traffic can be easily done and overtaking with the confidence of the power in your throttle is an absolute joy. The looks of this bike is an eye turner, perfectly crafted italian design with form and functionality. Be ready to answer curious passerby asking what make, mileage and price the bike is. Once i had a man come out from his vehicle at the signal asking me what bike is it..Lol. The throaty exhaust note is so addictive that u would love to twist the throttle just to hear them as you pass by other motorists. It gives it a sporty character.The twin headlamp set up looks really well moulded on the bike and goes so well with the overall design of the bike. But the lamps could have been brighter and this is one disadvantage i see on the bike. Oncoming traffic really makes your path blind and a lot of pot holes could have been skipped if the head lamps were brighter. Talking about pot holes, the suspension is on the stiffer side for its sport handling, which is a drawback for our Indian roads. The suspension could have been a little softer to comply with our road type. Handling is amazing on this bike and u can twist them through corners with ease and confidence. The v rubber tyres are ever so grippy but not so on wet tarmac. Need to be extra cautious on wet roads as these tyres are really meant to grip only dry surface.The speedo looks plain and purposeful with analogue readouts, no bells and whistles or any digital meters it is pretty plain jane with the necessary tell tales.Trunk space is a compromise, a half face helmet can fit in, not suitable for large grocery shopping to be stuffed in, a front hook is also provided to hang in some items at the front. Seats are comparatively smaller to your other gearless bikes, but is comfy enough for two and can be snuggle some with your better half.Foot space in the front is not that worthy taking about but can have my size 10 feet fit in perfectly with my sneakers on. The flush fitting pillion foot rests are of good quality and well designed, really love the way they have designed it. Riding position is fantastic, u feel that you are riding something big with view over the traffic with its big 14inch wheels on. Size wise it's smaller compared to suzuki access but taller on its high heels.My first service was a free service, and came at around 600 change (free means free from labour charge) and the second service around 1k. Alternate services are free for a year. You can opt for extended warranty for not a big amount.Service centres have well trained staffs and the service is quick and satisfactory.Waiting room was available at the service centre. Weekends tend to be crowded.So far there are no problems with the bike, everything runs well and perfect and i did not have any visit to the service centre apart from the regular services. Fit and finish of the bike is really sturdy and of great quality. Body panels are of good quality fibre.It's an awesome machine to own. I do not regret at all to my choice. My budget too was below 90k and there is no other bike that has this much character, appeal, looks and uniqueness in that price bracket.This is a pocket rocket with style and charisma. This is not a bike that serves your daily grocery runs and to be used as a workhorse. This is something for those who are passionate about their ride.I would not suggest this bike to somebody who would be looking into the mileage department as this gives u a maximum of 35km/litre spot on with the checks i have made on regular city riding.If you enjoy your rides and are thrill seeking, this is the perfect bike to go for under 90k rupees on road price and it can munch miles on the highways without a sweat and still wanting to go more..Go for it and #be a racer.Pros-Power and speed (110+)Handling Looks and uniqueness Exhaust note Cons-Stiff suspension Low headlight beam Low mileage for the mileage conscious Small under seat storage.

    Stick to the service intervals and service requirements on the manual. Maintain a max speed of 50km/h until the first 1000kms as per the service manual or at-least until the first service as per the service centre personal before you open the throttle wide. Cheers and enjoy the ride..

  • Must buy if you like fun

    6 years ago

    Matt

    This is the best scooter you can buy if you want fun and something that will make you grin while slipping through dense traffic. Sr 150 race is the best looking scooter and people just can't stop staring at it. Apart from the best and first 150cc engine scooter which is great the mileage is super. But who needs mileage when you can reach places quicker.

    Everything about this scooter is 10/10 except for it awful split headlamp. Aprilia could've easily made a led drls that compliments the whole design but no they had to cut some costs by giving it dated headlamps and standard analogue speedo and fuel indicator.

    Pros: *design 10/10

    *engine 10/10

    * handling 8/10

    * brakes 8/10

    * ride exp 9/10

    Cons: * analogue instrument cluster

    * awkward headlamp functions

    * cheap quality switches

  • Rev. Sound of this scooter grabs all attention

    6 years ago

    Shubhamvarun

    Aprilia sr150 is superb in it’s segment as it is powered by 154.80cc single cylinder petrol motor which gives immense 10.25bhp power to drive. Maximum speed that i had attained on outer ring road delhi is 120+ ,clearly it can defeat a lot bikes in its segment . Suspensions are stiffer,sitting position is high (a person who is below 5’8 would not comfortable on this scooter ...Although it is a perfect scooter for city,highway and for offroading as well. The problems i am facing now a days is vibration in gearbox which makes it little uncomfortable (technical issue) and if you really want to rev it hard then your speed must around 20km/h . Den only it will go faster and faster, and if accelerate it from 0 den it requires a lot effort . As i m not getting good mileage in city but as u spend 83k on race version, so don’t expect a good mileage (30-35kmpl). Although, the plastic material used in this bike isn’t that good but , it doesn't affect a lot to those who are aprilian. and at-last i would suggest go for new product if you are speed lover or want something exclusive and different from others.

  • Aprilia rear wheel

    5 years ago

    Gimson Jose

    Bike performance is very good. But service center or aprilia is not providing spare on time. As i was facing rear wheel noise from second service. The whole year rear wheel is not available. There is no recall from aprillia for this issue. Its purely product complaint. Now parts available. Vehicle warranty expired.

  • A duke 200 to sr 150 excitement story.

    6 years ago

    Kishore G

    1. Buying experience.

    I sold a 5 yr old ktm duke 200 and was looking for an alternative - a more convenient ride inside the city. My other choices were gixxer, fz, hornet etc. I was then attracted by this small fellow and with my friend's strong recommendation, i gave a test drive and that day i decided he will my next boy - sr150 race.

    2. Riding experience

    Inside the city, he is master class. If you know to handle him well , this guy can smoke other normal city commuting bikes. I'm doing it every other day though. Excellent braking and perfect handling makes your ride butter smooth. This one is not a normal moped to carry your daily goods like milk , vegetables , paper etc. He is the best in what he does.

    3. Details about looks, performance,

    Sr 150 comes in 2 variants - standard and race. Standard has white and black colour choices. Race variant has the moto gp rs-gp aprilia rsv4 colour variant - grey, green and red which is macho. The race variant also gets golden coated disc and orange alloys which adds to the beauty.

    It has 120 mm tyres which is wide enough for you to knee scrap on a moped and 14 inch alloys , telescopic forks to handle bad roads and pot holes. The race variant is slightly faster than the standard because of the tuned engine.It comes with front disc and rear drum brakes and the disc is sharp as a knife. It stops well before your planned stop line. It has a 8-litre tank for the power it throws and a decent boot space to fit in your half faced small helmets. Handling is just perfect.

    4. Servicing and maintenance.

    I live in chennai and feel that the service done here is just on par. Nothing great to comment about. I have heard that bangalore and some of the other places have good tie ups. Maintenance is pretty cheap for a 150 cc machine and i have been paying roughly about 500 bucks for a service.

    5. Pros and cons.

    Pros

    Excellent pick up and handling.

    Brakes are sharp.

    Wide tires give maximum grip.

    Telescopic forks and alloy wheels give very good handling.

    Cons

    Console looks very outdated

    Headlight power is poor - 35 w is outdated.

    Boot space is comparatively lesser than others in this segment.

    Fuel tank nozzle is positioned badly. Spills out fuel if carelessly handled.

    Start your bike with the kicker every morning which extends battery life. A proper run-in period will result in long life of the engine. Make sure the petrol is not adulterated. Service it at regular intervals as advised.

  • Really a super scooterbike not so budget friendly but truly amazing!!!

    6 years ago

    Kevin

    My family was going to own its first ever automobile and we searching for a perfect vehicle which everyone in my family could ride.One of my fathers friend suggested to buy the aprilia sr50 so we thought to give it a shot.We went to the show room and i just felt in love with it i'm not over exaggerating but i truly loved it so did my family so we decided to buy it.I was newbie to be honest and it was not so difficult to learn on it. Something i did not like about the bike after riding it was its repairing cost its pretty high and the mileage is also very low as compared to others. That's all.

    Thanks for reading.

    * handling 8/10

    * brakes 8/10

    * ride exp 9/10

  • The best bike in my life.

    Sarvednya Mhatre

I live in chennai and feel that the service done here is just on par. Nothing great to comment about. I have heard that bangalore and some of the other places have good tie ups. Maintenance is pretty cheap for a 150 cc machine and i have been paying roughly about 500 bucks for a service.

That's all.

    * handling 8/10

    * brakes 8/10

    * ride exp 9/10

    Cons: * analogue instrument cluster

    * awkward headlamp functions

    * cheap quality switches
