With both front and rear disc brakes, Aprilia Tuareg 660 comes up with anti-locking braking system. This Tuareg 660 bike weighs 204 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 18 liters.
The Aprilia Tuareg 660 is the Italian manufacturer's brand-new adventure motorcycle for India. It is based on Aprilia’s 660 platform, and as the moniker suggests, this motorcycle is powered by a 659cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that makes 80bhp and 70Nm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and it gets a bi-directional quickshifter.
The engine sits inside a tubular steel chassis that is suspended by a 43mm adjustable USD fork and an adjustable monoshock. The bike rides on a 21-inch front/ 18-inch rear cross-spoke wheels combination that is shod with dual-purpose tyres. Braking duties are taken care of by twin disc brakes at the front and a single disc brake setup at the rear. Dual-channel ABS is standard. Then, the rear ABS can be switched off while riding off-road and that helps the rider to lock the wheel and slide the bike to help tighten the corner.
The Aprilia Tuareg 660 has a decent set of features, the kind you’d expect from a bike in this segment. The list includes LED lights, colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, and cruise control. In terms of safety features, besides switchable ABS, the bike has four ride modes, traction control system, and engine brake control.
Lastly, the Tuareg’s design is inspired by dirt bikes and Dakar rally bikes. This is evident in the high-mounted LED headlights, tall windscreen, and the shape of the fuel tank and its extensions. The tail section of the bike is simply the exposed sub-frame, with the LED taillight and the numberplate holder attached to the rear end. Overall, the bike looks very purposeful.
The Aprilia Tuareg 660 is available in three colours - Atreides Black, Canyon Sand, and Evocative Dakar Podium.
