Suzuki is the one of the most powerful bike in 150 to 160 segment , comfy bike, but if u plan to use the bike for the long time u may out of spare in India comparing to other company bikes. If u afford money on service your bike in the showroom you may buy this bike. The best part of this bike is 0 vibration on top speed (117). And u don't get any back pain. Mileage is good and i use to service this bike in my father workshop . Best bike to ride but no spare :)

I have brought this bike in 2015. It's been two and half years riding this bike. I am very much pleased to share my experience with you all. It is a very good experience till now.

I have explained all my experience in below points.

    - from riding side, it was very fun to ride this bike in city traffic as well as short trip. I have done 250 km drive one one shot. It was a awesome ride.

    - in city you can manage to control this bike efficiently.

    - from looks and performance point of view, it rocks. Definitely it's eye catching on the road.Pickup is very smooth and fast. The one part i don't like is its pillion seat and gears. The gears are not very smooth. It can be improved.

    - there is no high maintenance. I am doing routine servicing and checkup. So till now i have not faced any maintenance issue.

    - pros- 1. Looks

    2. Pickup

    3. Riding comfort

    4. Breaking

    5. Low maintenance

    - cons- 1. Pillion seat position

    2. Gear box

Style well if you look at, it resembles like yamaha fz. A few changes to fule tank and rear handrail has been done. All in all its what yamaha has already offered, but something that makes it a little more sporty is its twin exhaust with a ss mirror finish.

Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox the engine is really smooth, the best thing is acceleration and the thrust, i feel its better thhan fz.

Its been a 3 weeks that i bought this bike, getting a milage to aroung 45kmpl. I am running the bike only below 4500 rpm as per the manual up till first service.

Gearbox the gear seems really hard for few days, there is some thing suzuki has to do with the gear it feels like u almost have to ram the leaver to change the gear. Now that i have driven it for around 459 km, it seems to have smoothened a little.

Ride quality & handling ride quality for the driver is good, the suspensions are also very effective. But for the pillion driver its really not comfortable. I really love the handeling of the bike, you can easily maneuver with out any glitch.

Final words if you are looking for some thing sporty and travell alone then this is a really amaizing bike.

Style naked bike design are quite stylish in my opinion.

Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox suzuki engines are one of the best, performance is smooth as chocolate. I get around 50+ kmpl and this mainly depends on the quality of the rider, no rash driving and maintaining 50-55 kmph. Gearbox is quite quirky, i found it good but my friends who rode the bike told me that the gearbox is little rusty/tough.

Ride quality & handling excellent i would riding quality, very comfortable while overtaking or making cuts and turns. Handling gets better on long drives.

Final words best bike in the naked bikes segment(at this price range). I'm so glad i bought this bike.

  • A bike you feel like giving a name to gixxer 155.

    Dhruv Maniar

Okay, so this is my review broken down into categories for my gixxer (dual tone, double disc). Considering its red-black, i named her benihime (the crimson princess, japanese).

Styling: what can i say?! she looks fast even when standing still and has aged superbly or not at all. This bike has the best rear profile and looks pleasant and sporty from all angles. Those 41 mm forks (which also do duty in a litre-class bike triumph bonneville) look awesome and so does the lowered headlamp giving it a very butch appeal. One con here is that you can’t use the kick start if you have not folded in the right foot peg, can get a bit annoying at times.

Ride & handling: this one rides like a charm. It is fast, fun, and reliable. The hornet was faster than this when released, but the bs4 version loses to this easily. This has really good low-end grunt needed for the city and a respectable real-life top speed of 115. All the components scream high quality. The front forks absorb anything coming in the way and provide stability at high speeds. This comes with the most expensive tyres in its class – the mrf revz, with the rear one being a radial variant (hornet has cheaper mrfs and pulsar has skinny tyres not worth a mention). They inspire a lot of confidence. There is the 7-step adjustable monoshock for your convenience. The paint and metal quality is top notch and survived this monsoon like a champ. The foot-pegs are front set, making it the fastest bike providing the most comfortable body posture in this segment. A con here is that the rear seat is too high for the short ones and not very accommodating; it also slides the pillion rider forward because of a forward incline.

Longevity: this is an unusual thing to include in a bike but the competitors make me do that. This is currently against hornet and pulsar 160 ns. Now one simple reason why this bike will hold up for longer in terms of structural integrity is because of how bare-bones it is. The hornet (also called unicorn on weak steroids) and pulsar have a beefed up appearance, which is because of the fibre panels. The more the panels, the higher the chances of panel gaps or impact damage. Gixxer has not a single panel that doesn’t add to the function, except the tiny one that carries the branding. Expect no rattling from this, this is made like a tank and can make enfields cry in terms of how well put together it is.

Sound: this sounds the best because of the dual barrel exhaust.

Console and electrical: the console is the only one in this segment to offer a gear shift indicator, which is quite important to get the best of your bike. My horn stopped working because of the rains maybe, but no big deal, it’s a cheap fix.

Engine: what a beauty this is! i am using a gixxer after having a pulsar 220 for 5 years. While my pulsar was quick to disagree if the speed was not in a gear it was comfortable with, the gixxer is just so so so forgiving. You can start the bike in 3rd gear. Need not say more.

Verdict: so should you buy it? yes. I say this without knowing your purpose as this bike can do anything. It can be your partner of a peaceful ride and it is up to the task when you want to drive fast enough to catch flash. Why should you buy this over p160 ns or a hornet. Because of these three bikes, only the gixxer was conceptualized as a gixxer. Each and every nut and bolt in it was destined to be a gixxer, unlike hornet which is a beefed up and bored out unicorn with some better hardware. Given my experience with my pulsar, i would not recommend that you spend money on this brand; the bike has inferior hardware anyway in all aspects. You may be fine owning any of these to a certain point, but take my word, gixxer is a bike that will tug the strings of your heart, make you want to name it, will compete with important people in your life for affection, and be a source of their envy. This isn’t a bike, this is reassurance at the turn of a key. It is not perfect, but it’s perfect enough for you to not mind the little things. Get it.

  • Why not suzuki have all the fun

    Swetank Sharad

The most economic streetfighter. In the era of rule of the lord of the streets, there came another lion in the concrete jungle, suzuki gixxer, the face-lifted version of suzuki's underdog gs150r, but with an all new stamina due to the new 155cc single cylinder engine, drawing out a power of 14.8 ps@8000rpm with a torque of 14nm@6000rpm.What could have been a suitable upgrade to the 1st generation yamaha fz, came in the form of gixxer from suzuki with the blessing in disguise for the sales of motorcycles in this segment for the company. The most noticable fact with this beast on 2 wheels is the charm that is held by its muscular and beefy looks, that too at a price which is most affordable in this segment. The advantages of the vehicle over the other gladiators, is the fully loaded instrument cluster with the only in class gear position indicator and 2 trip meters along with a rpm shift light to the rescue. Rest all the attributes are common in the other bikes too. Spotlighting the other beauties of this vehicle, the 266mm front disc, and the 240mm rear disc (p.S- only for the rear disc variant) with bybre callipers provide quite a bite with a good stopping force form 100-0 kmph. The 155cc single-cylinder, air cooled engine also runs more on less fuel giving a mileage of about 40-50 kmpl, giving out a top speed of 115 kmph (p.S-arguably in my case i went to a 124) but with the only downside of a tank of 12l capacity, as this sports commuter also shows metamorphosis to a comfortable highway rider, but the tedious work of getting the tank refilled again and again. The in gear acceleration of the vehicle is just superb. The only downside with the vehicle in the town is during the bumpy breakers, as it has a low ground clearance of 160mm. The foot pegs aren't so rear set and the ride posture is way more comfortable till today than any of it's competitors. The mrf's on the front (100/80-17) and the rear (140/60-17) are just a substandard material, but fear not, they can be replaced by ceat zoom's or pirelli's or michelin's, but from the aftermarket. The exhaust note is as sweet as the music from the pied piper's flute, only in this case, the flute is in the form of the iconic doulble barrel exhaust. With the passing times, even this vehicle has seen its days of glory and still today stands as a proud undefeated warrior in its area of expertise and specialities. It currently comes in 3 variants with the standard variant at inr 80,929, and the rest with a dual disc and a single-channel abs, first in the class of its 150cc segment.Overall, the vehicle is a true all rounder for the price and you wont regret purchasing it.

Omg.. My bike really does awesome. I have just been looking for a new bike which result in more than it cost. Riding hood to the public interest rates will be the best. I really love my bike. Mileage is about 45-48 kmpl which is good for daily basis.Service and maintenance is good. Handling is extremely awesome. And as i said,it is not for everyone....

  • Pillion rider may have a problem

    Sree

Best in this segment. I am using this for daily office use in kochi city where traffic is a terrible problem. Still i get 55+ mileage. On weekends i ride to hometown which is 140+km, the best part is 0 back pain. On highway gixxer gives 60+ if you know how to make use of it. The only problem i felt is, if you have a pillion rider, and if both of you have travel bags, there wont be enough space. Still you can adjust if the trip is not so long. And most of the bikes in this segment have the same problem. Top speed is said to be 117-120. Being a safe rider i haven't gone that faster, still on highways if you are giving constant acceleration bike will climb above 100 without you knowing it. 155 cc engine provides perfect power to mileage combination. If you are seeking decent power, muscular looks and good mileage, go for it..

I have brought this bike in 2015. It's been two and half years riding this bike. I am very much pleased to share my experience with you all. It is a very good experience till now.

Get it.
