I have been riding this bike for months but for regular purposes like office going It will hit you hard with petrol expenses, we Indians, in the end, want city mileage of 40 kmpl approx. Everything is good in this bike like offroading, racing, etc but when it comes to city mileage it gives you around 20 to 24 kmpl which hurts a lot

      Excellent Road Presence
      Excellent Highway Ride
      Super stability at high speeds
      Great mileage with triple-digit speeds
      Comfort with a pillion ride
The off-road and touring best vehicle in the segment. For the daily commute, ok compared to high rides.
Not much heat was observed on the highways compared to the City ride. Overall value for money, and again, Royal Enfield proved that they're a legend in the market.

The buying experience of the Royal Enfield Himalayan is generally positive. Customers often appreciate its rugged design, comfortable ergonomics, and its capability for both on-road and off-road adventures. However, as with any motorcycle, it's always a good idea to test ride it to see if it fits your riding style and preferences. Additionally, checking reviews and feedback from other Himalayan owners can give you a better idea of what to expect.

Its comfortable upright riding position, long-travel suspension, and torquey engine make it well-suited for long rides and off-road adventures. Riders appreciate its stability on different terrains and its ability to handle rough roads with ease. However, some riders have reported issues with vibrations at higher speeds, but overall, it's a popular choice for those seeking adventure both on and off the road.

      2. **Chassis:** It features a half-duplex split-cradle frame that provides excellent stability and handling both on and off-road.
      3. **Suspension:** Long-travel suspension with 41 mm telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock with linkage at the rear ensures a comfortable ride over rough terrain.

      5. **Off-Road Capability:** With its off-road focused design, long-travel suspension, and dual-purpose tires, the Himalayan is well-equipped to tackle a variety of terrain, from tarmac to gravel to dirt tracks.
Overall, the Royal Enfield Himalayan offers a perfect balance of looks and performance, making it a popular choice among adventure enthusiasts.
Service and maintenance of the Royal Enfield Himalayan are relatively straightforward, but it's essential to follow the manufacturer's recommended service schedule to ensure the bike's optimal performance and longevity. Here's what you can expect:
      **Service Intervals:**
Royal Enfield typically recommends servicing the Himalayan at regular intervals, usually every 5,000 kilometers or six months, whichever comes earlier.

      1. **Oil Change:** Regular oil changes are crucial to keep the engine running smoothly. The recommended oil change interval is usually around 5,000 kilometers.
      2. **Filter Replacement:** Air filter and oil filter should be inspected and replaced as per the service schedule to maintain engine performance.
      3. **Chain Maintenance:** Regular cleaning, lubrication, and tension adjustment of the drive chain are necessary for smooth power transmission.
      4. **Fluid Checks:** Regularly check brake fluid, coolant, and other fluid levels and top up as necessary.
      5. **Tire Maintenance:** Regularly inspect tire pressure, tread depth, and general condition of the tires. Replace them when necessary for optimal safety and performance.
      **Authorized Service Centers:**
Royal Enfield has an extensive network of authorized service centers across the country where trained technicians can service your Himalayan using genuine parts and accessories.
      **Cost of Maintenance:**
The cost of maintenance for the Royal Enfield Himalayan is generally reasonable, with routine services and minor repairs being affordable. However, costs may vary depending on the specific service required and the labor charges at the service center.
      **Warranty:**
Royal Enfield usually offers a standard warranty on the Himalayan, covering manufacturing defects for a certain period or mileage, whichever comes first. It's essential to adhere to the service schedule to keep the warranty valid.

      4. **Long-Travel Suspension:** Equipped with long-travel suspension, the Himalayan provides a comfortable ride over rough terrain.
      5. **Reliable Engine:** The 411 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine is known for its reliability and provides ample low-end torque.
      6. **Affordable Pricing:** Compared to other adventure bikes in its class, the Himalayan is relatively affordable, making it accessible to a wide range of riders.
      7. **Easy to Maintain:** Routine maintenance is straightforward, and Royal Enfield has an extensive service network across the country.
      **Cons:**
      1. **Vibrations:** Some riders have reported vibrations, especially at higher speeds, which can affect long-distance comfort.
      2. **Build Quality:** While improved over previous models, some riders feel that the overall build quality could be better, with occasional issues reported.
      3. **Weight:** Weighing in at around 200 kg, the Himalayan is heavier than some of its competitors, which can be challenging for smaller riders or in off-road situations.
      4. **Power:** While adequate for most riding situations, some riders may find the power output of the Himalayan to be lacking, especially during highway cruising or when carrying heavy loads.
      5. **Braking:** Although equipped with disc brakes, some riders feel that the braking performance could be better, especially when riding off-road or in wet conditions.
Overall, the Royal Enfield Himalayan offers an excellent balance of affordability, versatility, and adventure capability, making it a popular choice among adventure enthusiasts. However, it's essential to consider these pros and cons and test ride the bike to see if it meets your specific riding needs and preferences.

      Mokshith V

      Practicality
With a 17-litre fuel tank, the bike boasts a range of around 450 km, making it perfect for long rides without frequent fuel stops. The center stand is handy for maintenance, and the crash bars around the tank provide added protection. The USB charging point is a thoughtful addition to keeping your devices powered on the go.
      Drawbacks
One minor gripe is the rear brake, which feels a bit too sensitive. It takes some getting used to, especially on loose surfaces where it can lock up if not applied carefully.
      Verdict
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is a solid upgrade from its predecessor. It combines the rugged charm of the original with modern enhancements that make it more capable and versatile. Priced expectedly between ₹5-6 lakh, it offers great value for adventure enthusiasts in India. Whether you’re commuting daily or planning a trip to the mountains, the Himalayan 450 is built to handle it all with ease and style.

The bike stands out in many aspects such as looks, practicality, handling, and capability and when compared to its competitors it's way more affordable.
Based on my experience the low-end torque and throttle response is best.
      MINOR CONS:
      1. Missed out with traction control.
      2. Feels a bit heavier in traffic conditions.

I suggest this Bike to buy. and you will never regret of lack of Power and torque. You can ride this on any road or no road.

    • Perfect Adventure Bike for Long Tours and Rough Roads

      Vikas Jha

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is an excellent adventure touring motorcycle with a powerful and refined engine. The bike feels very comfortable on long rides, highways, and broken roads. Suspension works really well on potholes and rough terrain, making it ideal for Indian road conditions. The upright riding posture, wide handlebar, and comfortable seat reduce fatigue during long journeys. Engine performance is smooth and strong, especially on highways, and braking confidence is good. Though it feels a bit heavy in city traffic, overall it is a reliable, capable, and value-for-money bike for touring and adventure lovers.

      Shivam Gangwar

Got my Himalayan 450 on March 29, 2024, from Uma Riders Ghaziabad after waiting for almost 45 days. The team at Uma Riders was superb in helping me out with the booking and also the delivery presentation was amazing.
Being a 5.7 feet person seat height was a bit problem in the Beginning especially when taking the bike out of the parking or reversing it on inclined surfaces, so have to chop the seat foam by around 15 mm Apart from that everything is so good about this bike. The power and punch that I am getting from this new engine are superbly amazing, yes there is some vibration in the engine but they don't bother me much, and extremely comfortable on long rides.
No doubt the bike looks like a mini Triumph tiger and performs also like the one. it's a head turner especially after some modifications that I did on my Himalayan 450, if you want you can check them out on my YouTube: Motorhead Shivam.
Being a Bajaj owner before I got my Himalayan I can say the service arrangement and the procedure is far better and feels premium here at Royal Enfield. Maintaining a Royal Enfield is not a big task because of the wide service reach and spare part availability in the open market.
      Pros :
      1 . Looks
      2 . Engine refinement & power
      3 . Suspension setup
      4 . Excellent braking system
5 . All new instrument clusters.
      Cons :
1 . Poor heat management, very difficult to ride in city traffic in summer.
2 . The headlight is very dim and useless on the highway.
      3. GPS navigation system of the instrument cluster, is simply useless as you have to keep your phone screen on all the time.

      Rajeev

      1. I have placed order in December 2023 and supposed to wait for 1.5month as there was a huge demand in this new Himalayan 450. Bike got delivered in January end.
      2. It was really a versatile riding experience. It is a perfect on for the person above 5.10ft. Though the weight is around 200 kg it doesn't feel like that.
      3. It has stunning looks. Cannot be compared with old Himalayan 411. Front wheel mudguard is catchy. The new tail lamps works as both indicator and break lights. Group clearance has been increased, so need no to worry in off-road. I have ridden in katcha roads and highways too. Felt comfortable in both roads.
      4. As it comes with tube tyres, frequent tyre check is mandatory. New Himalayan comes with multiple riding modes ABS, ECO. So based on it's better to switch to different riding modes. Chain cleaning is a must thing to be done for every 500Km. Make sure that any mud or dust is not stucked in the chain area especially in rainy season. I had a 1st service check for Himalayan at 500km. Overall cost was around Rs.1300.
      5. Pros: Well designed for long rides with comfortable seating. It is capable in handling both katcha roads, highways.
Cons: Headlight is not sufficient. Additionally installing fog lamps is recommended. Radiator gets turn on frequently if the gear shifting is done from 3rd to 4th. It provides lot of heat.

      Super stability at high speeds

      Comfort with a pillion ride
The off-road and touring best vehicle in the segment. For the daily commute, ok compared to high rides.
Not much heat was observed on the highways compared to the City ride. Overall value for money, and again, Royal Enfield proved that they're a legend in the market.

      Tips for other riders

Frequent check in radiator part and Chain, as there are lot of chances is getting stuck with mud or dust. Oil change is recommended for every 4000-5000km.
