RE showroom experience was good except they messed up my insurance details.
Superb suspension at stock settings with 845 mm seat height (my height is 178 cm); able to place both heels on the ground, good riding triangle and comfortable, good flick ability for an adventure bike on tarmac
Looks are subjective, I like the old design more however feels and is massive with good road presence; feels like a toned-down version of the Duke 390 engine; miss the 411 low-end torque, and needs to keep above 3,000 rpm however feels peppy and engaged post 4k; improved brakes; optimal instrument console height and angle
      Good service.
will share things that I feel need improvement.
      # Though it looks good, functionally not a fan of the rear/brake light indicator combo.
      # when the bike is inside the stand, it leans way too much.
      # Switch gear especially the pass switch isn't ideal to operate and requires effort and adjustment
      # The headlamp is poor for night / early morning riding
      # For navigation to fully function with maps shown in the top half of the display, the screen needs to stay on (Android auto/car play support would be nice)
      # Heaviness can be felt when trying to park or move around (need to be at high fitness levels)
      # In stock condition for an adventure tourer, a crash guard would be expected as many of the vehicles nowadays come with it; not a fan of hybrid bash plates.
Though I miss the low-end torque of the previous gen, I am ok with the new engine's peppiness which for me seems like an agreeable tradeoff.

      Dharam Singh

I recently purchased the Himalayan 450 bike and I must say, the buying experience was smooth and hassle-free. The staff at the dealership were knowledgeable and helpful in guiding me through the different models and features.
As for the riding experience, I have been thoroughly impressed. The bike handles rough terrains with ease and the suspension system provides a smooth and comfortable ride. The upright seating position and wide handlebars make for a relaxed and enjoyable ride, even on long journeys. The bike also comes with dual-channel ABS which provides added safety and confidence while riding.
In terms of looks, the Himalayan 450 has a rugged and adventurous appearance. The large front windshield and round headlamp give it a classic and timeless look, while the tall stance and high ground clearance give it a commanding presence on the road.
In terms of performance, the 450cc engine delivers ample power and torque, making it suitable for both on and off-road adventures. The bike also comes with a fuel injection system which ensures smooth and consistent power delivery.
When it comes to servicing and maintenance, I have found that the Himalayan 450 is relatively easy to maintain. The service intervals are reasonable and the parts are readily available. The dealership also provides excellent after-sales service, making it convenient to get any necessary maintenance or repairs done.
      Pros:
      - Excellent off-road capabilities
      - Comfortable riding position
      - Good fuel efficiency
      - Reliable and durable build quality
      Cons:
      - Could use a bit more power for highway cruising
      - Some riders may find the seat a bit firm for long rides
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase of the Himalayan 450 bike. It has exceeded my expectations in terms of performance, comfort, and reliability, making it a great choice for anyone looking for a versatile and capable adventure bike.

    • One Bike That Does It All – Touring, Trails & Daily Rides

      Sohan Bodake

bought the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, looking for an all-purpose motorcycle, and it has truly lived up to that expectation. This bike can be used almost anywhere – city rides, highways, long touring journeys, and even off-road trails. The buying experience was smooth, and the bike instantly feels premium and well-built.
The riding experience is excellent, especially for touring and adventure riding. The suspension setup is very comfortable and handles bad roads, potholes, and off-road trails with ease. The bike does feel a little heavy initially, especially at low speeds, but once you start riding regularly, you slowly get used to the weight, and it no longer feels like a problem.
The engine is aggressive and noticeably more powerful compared to older Himalayans. Power delivery is strong, smooth, and confidence-inspiring, whether you’re overtaking on highways or climbing rough terrain. The bike feels stable at high speeds and planted on long rides. The upright seating position, wide handlebars, and comfortable seat make long-distance touring fatigue-free.
In terms of looks, the Himalayan 450 has a rugged and modern adventure-bike design that stands out on the road. Servicing and maintenance so far have been reasonable, and regular servicing keeps the bike smooth and reliable.
Pros: Powerful engine, excellent suspension, touring comfort, great off-road capability, all-round usability.
Cons: Slightly heavy for beginners, could be intimidating at first.
Maintenance Tip: Keep chain lubrication regular, check tyre pressure before long rides, and follow service intervals for the best performance.
Overall, the Himalayan 450 is a perfect all-rounder for riders who want one bike for everything.

    • Desert heart. Mountain soul.

      Akash

This bike is a camel that never gets tired.
If endurance had two wheels, it would be the Himalayan 450. This machine is built to go the distance — whether it’s highways, mountains, or city traffic.
Pros – What I Love About This Bike
      Ride Quality – Extremely Comfortable
The suspension setup is brilliant. It absorbs bumps effortlessly, making long rides feel easy on the body.
      Impressive Mileage for a 450cc
For a 450cc engine, getting around 28 km/l is very respectable. With this kind of power on tap, the efficiency is more than satisfactory.
      Eye-Catching Looks
The design stands out. People notice when you ride past. It has a strong road presence.
      Effortless Cruising
Cruising at 120–130 km/h feels smooth and stable. The bike doesn’t feel stressed.
      Strong Service Network
Royal Enfield has one of the widest service networks in India, which adds peace of mind for long-distance riders.
      Affordable Maintenance
Regular service costs around ₹1,800, which is quite economical compared to many rivals in this segment.
      Built for Long Distances
Thanks to the soft suspension and effective windscreen, riding 700–800 km in a day is very manageable.
      Large 17-Litre Fuel Tank
With a 17L tank and ~28 km/l mileage, it can comfortably cover 400+ km on a full tank — perfect for remote stretches.
Punchy Throttle & Strong Low-End Torque
Throttle response feels sharp, especially in the initial pull. Like most Royal Enfield bikes, the low-end torque is strong, which means fewer gear changes in city traffic.
      Cons – Minor Downsides
      Slight Vibrations at 80–90 km/h
There are mild vibrations in this range. You do get used to them over time, and they don’t take away from the overall experience.
      Stock Mirrors Could Be Better
The stock mirrors aren’t the best and could use an upgrade.
      My Buying Story
I wasn’t always a fan of Royal Enfield.
After riding the Royal Enfield Classic 350 to Ladakh, I felt it struggled at high altitudes due to low oxygen levels. Later, I bought the KTM 390 Duke and absolutely loved its performance — super punchy and aligned perfectly with my riding style.
Eventually, I wanted an adventure bike and planned to buy the KTM 390 Adventure. I even took a test ride and paid the booking amount.
On my way home, I happened to pass by a Royal Enfield showroom and thought, “Let me just take a test ride — I won’t buy it.”
Just 5 kilometres later, I was already in love.
It felt like sitting on a sofa while the bike moved effortlessly. Compared to the KTM 390 Adventure, I found it significantly more comfortable, and the low-end torque was stronger. In Delhi NCR traffic, I didn’t have to shift gears constantly.
I went home, discussed it with my wife, and she took a test ride as a pillion. She found it extremely comfortable too.
I cancelled the KTM booking and brought home the Himalayan 450.
The first thing I did? Took it straight to Ladakh.
Covered nearly 3,500 km — and honestly, I have zero complaints regarding performance or comfort.
      Final Verdict
If you don’t have height-related concerns, this machine will not disappoint you.
The Himalayan 450 is built for riders who value comfort, endurance, torque, and real-world usability over aggressive top-end performance.
      It’s not just a bike.
      It’s a long-distance companion.
A machine that refuses to get tired.

    • Ownership experience

      Prem

The dealership also provides excellent after-sales service, making it convenient to get any necessary maintenance or repairs done.
      Pros:
      - Excellent off-road capabilities
      - Comfortable riding position
      - Good fuel efficiency
      - Reliable and durable build quality
      Cons:
      - Could use a bit more power for highway cruising

      Prem

    • Know all about the Himalayan 450
