I wanted to buy my first bike. I was a 125 cc scooter user, so wanted a better cc bike. I had options of gixxer, apache, hornet and unicorn 160. I took a test drive of all the three, and finalized unicorn 160 cbs.
The performance
The performance from engine is good. Throttle response is good, and you wont find it dull, even riding on open city roads. Even in stop and go traffic, the bike feels nice and quick to move. It quickly reaches to 70s and being a cbs version, braking is absolute perfect. While riding in city, you never feel the bike is out of control.
But, when it comes to highways rides, the story is not that sweet. Though the speed reaches triple digits and stays for long time, you tend to get lot of turbulence. The handle bar get vibrations. Wind turbulence is massive. Leads to lose the confidence over the bike. A light-weight is a disadvantage here. Tyres are thinner to give required stability to bike for triple digit ride. In the end, you are forced to reduce it to 90s. Its not a fault of engine. Engine is capable, but other components don't co-operate.
Comfort
The best part is mono-suspension. It literally absorb the bumps and wont let you feel them. It keeps the ride handling extremely comfortable.
When it comes to sitting, i would be unsatisfied about it. I feel the cushion could be more comfortable. A little lengthy ride will give your bum good amount of soar. Though i am a healthy person having triple digit weigh, i found other bike seats more comfortable than this one.
Else, ride position is good. Thought it looks bit aggressive, its totally comfortable, and you never feel the weight is on your shoulder.
Economy
Honda claims it to be 62 kmpl economy for this. But, i experienced between 45-49. And i am happy about it. On highways, it gives around 52-55. But, again, it all depends upon your driving style.
Overall:
Perfect city bike. Cbs and mono suspension are best features offered by bike. Its a bit costly for what it offers.
If you are strictly city commuter, then go for this one. But if you enjoy some highway rides too, then consider its sibling, cb hornet.
