Riding Experience & Comfort: The flat, long seat is extremely comfortable for both the rider and pillion. Despite carrying a CNG cylinder under the seat, the weight distribution is remarkably well-balanced, making it light and agile through city traffic.
Performance & Economy: Switching between CNG and petrol via the handlebar button is instant and seamless. On CNG, it easily yields 90+ km/kg, effectively cutting daily running costs by more than half. High-speed stability on highways is stable up to 80–85 km/h.

The Bajaj Freedom 125 is a groundbreaking motorcycle that has stirred a lot of attention for being the world’s first CNG-powered bike. At first glance, it looks unlike any other commuter in its segment, thanks to its trellis frame and the underseat CNG tank that gives it a distinctive silhouette. Bajaj has clearly tried to make it stand out visually, with LED lighting on higher trims, alloy wheels, and a long flat seat that emphasizes practicality.
On the road, the Freedom 125 feels familiar yet different. Its 124.58cc engine produces 9.5hp and 9.7Nm, which is modest and closer to what you’d expect from a 100–110cc commuter rather than a full 125cc. Performance is adequate for city use, but riders looking for punchy acceleration may find it underwhelming. The real highlight, however, is its efficiency. Running on CNG, the bike delivers an astonishing mileage of around 94km/kg in the city and up to 126km/kg on highways. Even on petrol, it manages a respectable 53–62km/l, making it one of the most economical options available. Switching between fuels is simple via a handlebar button, though transitions can sometimes feel jerky.
Comfort is a mixed bag. The long seat is spacious and commuter-friendly, but the tall 825mm seat height could be intimidating for shorter riders. Suspension is tuned on the firmer side, which means it handles bumps adequately but doesn’t offer the plush ride quality of some rivals. Braking is another area where the bike feels compromised. The front brake lacks bite, and with no ABS on offer, safety-conscious riders may feel hesitant.
Where Bajaj deserves credit is in safety testing of the CNG system. The company has demonstrated the tank’s durability under extreme conditions, even showcasing it withstand the weight of a truck without damage. That said, practical challenges remain—CNG refilling queues are long, and filling capacity can vary depending on pump quality and temperature.
Overall, the Bajaj Freedom 125 is not about performance or premium comfort; it’s about redefining affordability in daily commuting. For riders who prioritize low running costs and want something unique, it’s a compelling option. But if braking performance, plush suspension, or strong acceleration are priorities, traditional petrol commuters like the Honda Shine or Hero Glamour may still feel like safer bets.

Really affordable for city use, the CNG mileage is really great and budget friendly on this current issue with petrol. Really great option for alternative fuels. The main drawbacks or service very expensive for 125cc I spent 6k for 4th service. Labour was charged 2300/-. This amount will be charged for servicing other bikes in local service centre. Mainly, the seating is really wasted, it will give the feel that you’re sitting on the rocks.

Service center (shaurya bajaj ) even their technicians have limited knowledge
Bad experience. Shifting automatically from CNG to Petrol
Spare parts are mostly not available, only mileage is getting proper approximately 70-80 kms on CNG.

When I bought the bike, in the first month it gave me mileage for CNG around 152-156 KM per 2 KG of CNG. Now it's giving me around 95-100 KM per 2 KG of CNG. About its seats, the body posture is not comfortable after sitting on the bike, and after regularly using back gets painful. Still with compairing with petrol bike, this bike's mileage is too good.

Initially the bike was good it gave 230 km for 2kg of cng but it started to give problems one after the other, failure of cng tank was the major draw back the bike had not even completed its 2nd service (1500km) at that time, now the bike has run 16,000 km but the mileage is only 110 for 2kg , even the service center guys try to avoid this bike as they don't have enough experience with cng yet. My main preference when I bought this bike was mileage for work purposes, but now it's mileage is comparable to higher cc bikes worst experience.
