  • Is cb200x is an good tourer bike mileage performance [user opinion review].

    Krishnaunni

    Buying experience:
The Honda cb200x is a fantastic machine. I've been using it for nearly 1 year and 8000 km have been completed successfully. I bought it from kerala and it cost 1.77 lakhs.
    Riding experience:
actually, honda has placed this bike in the adventure tourer category. But in my experience, this bike will perform very well in tourer than adventure. I ride this bike continuously for 150 kms through highways without any strain. But once we come to off-roading I'm not 100% satisfied. Because we can do off-roading in it but we cannot go for hardcore off-roading on this bike[ground clearance - 167 mm].
    - engine
Honda has given a very refined engine to this bike even if we go below 35 km/h in 5th gear there is no knocking from the engine side. Even though it's a 184cc 5speed engine there are no any vibrations till 115 km/h. The top speed of my bike is 126 km/h but the company claims 130 km/h.
    - seats
Split seats are provided. The seats are not amazing but not too bad. The rider seat is comfortable but the pillion seat is not good for a long ride. If you are planning for a long ride with a pillion you have to cushion the pillion seat.
    - adviser
Honda has provided a nice windvisor to this bike. The visor will protect the rider till 80-90km/h [it may vary according to the height of the rider].
    - looks
This is an eye-catching bike. Because of its design and adv stands many people will ask about this bike. And if we looked from the front side the front look of this bike is very similar to cb500.
    - service and maintenance
As you know honda bikes and scooters have comparatively low service costs and maintenance the same as that cb200x also have low service costs and maintenance.
    Pros :
    - good design
    - very refined engine
    - good for touring
    - nice handling
    Cons :
    - headlight visibility has to improve.
    - center stand will hit every speed breaker(hump) if you are riding with a pillion.
    Mileage :
50-54 km/l [if you are cruising on a highway between 70-80 km/h you will definitely get this mileage]
    My opinion :
Cb200 x is completely a beginner-friendly bike. We can use this bike as a daily commuter and tourer and do off-roading too (hardcore off-roading may be difficult in this bike). Actually in my opinion this bike is an all-rounder.
Suppose you are a person who is looking for a hardcore offroad bike like x-pulse. I will say this is not a bike for you. But if you are a beginner or you are upgrading from a scooter this bike will be 100% suitable for you. Or if you are looking for a tourer bike you can consider this bike too.

I'm happy with this bike, it has become a very good travel partner, I have gone long trips of 1350kms with this bike along with a pillion rider, it gives an awesome riding experience, also tried some difficult off-road terrains- passed that test, it has very good mileage, the only con I feel is pillion seat not so comfortable, could have work more on back suspension.

    1. Delivery experience was bad due to bad staff in the showroom.
    2. Riding position is good. The bike is very good on bad bumpy roads and also good on rainy days. The seat comfort is very bad. Need seat modification for a long ride above 100 km. Pilion seat comfort is very very bad. I rode 200km with a pillion on a wet road after rain and found dirt splashing on both passengers from foot to knee. Mudguard is not so good. But riding feel was good. Suspension is ok and getting better as km adds on. The gear shift is very stiff and noisy. Sometimes gear gets stuck in between two gears ( especially while overtaking).
    3. Mileage getting abt 45km.
    4. Feels shortage of power at some time. Comfortable speed between 90 to 100.
    5. With crash guard and carrier bike looks very good. A comfortable ride with a top box.
    Good in traffic.
6 . Had an issue with the headlight not working. Sometimes work sometimes not.
    7. Bike looks huge but when you ride you don't feel it. It's easy to handle.

Happy to be a CB200X owner, I have been riding CB200X for 4 months, Comfortable riding posture for long rides and city rides, Not recommended to use for off-road as the ground clearance is 165mm. You will get a nice smile while unleashing the throttle with no to zero vibrations.

Pros- riding position, refined engine, smooth gear shift, great styling, decent power, riding stability, tyre offered road & off road grips, breaking meets its power, mileage, brand value
Cons- hard suspension, poor ground clearance even compared to unicorn, foot rest position more sporty than convenient, poor pillion seating, price little High, no test drive option given, needed dual channel abs, missed usb port.

Happy to be a CB200X owner, I have been riding CB200X for 4 months, Comfortable riding posture for long rides and city rides, Not recommended to use for off-road as the ground clearance is 165mm. You will get a nice smile while unleashing the throttle with no to zero vibrations.

  • CBX200 Practicality

    Subramanya

Please find my experience below after riding 2000 kms.
    Pros
Engine smoothness and ride quality is good
The fuel economy is good. I'm getting 40+ km/litre.
Maintenance and service charges are nominal and should be less than 2–4k.
    Cons
Seats are not comfortable for long rides. Riders will experience heat due to bad seat design.
Ground clearance or a central stand could have been placed a little higher. It touches speed bumps sometimes.
The saddle seat holder is missing.
USB charger is missing and the speedo meter display could have been better.
The rear view/design of the bike could have been planned better by Honda.
Honda should work on customer feedback instead of focusing only on the engine. Ergonomics and raider practicality needs should be considered while designing bikes which is good in Triumph, TVS and Royal Enfield.
