Everything is perfect about this bike but the fuel capacity w.r.t mileage is very low, till now i did ride for about 500 kms on all roads i really feel comfortable and completely satisfied about the bike, the engine heats up very quickly in the traffic, and we can feel the heat passing below the legs, think i made a right choice buying this bike, let's see..

  • Parallel twin 650 for 3l

    Nathan Dias

I got the interceptor 650 bakers express as my 21st birthday gift from my parents. I have clocked 600+km on my bike and i have to say that this bike truly has two characters. You can ride it in a calm and sedate manner somewhere around 3000 rpm and it cruises through gracefully. When you rev it hard, it behaves totally differently and will definitely put a smile on your face. I have been getting around 16-25 km/l depending on the way i ride and it is really good for a 650cc, 210 kg bike. The looks of the bike are proper retro. You could take this bike into the 80's and other than the exceptional fit and finish, the bike would just blend it. It is beautiful to look at. All the curves paired with the round headlamp and the rectangular side indicators and the 18" spoke rims really do give it an unique charm. The brakes on the 650 are just phenomenal. I saw in a couple of reviews where it posed shorter braking distance than even the ktm duke 390 and kawasaki ninja 300 and i can confirm it is true. The brakes are extremely precise and the abs does what it's supposed to. You can come comfortably to a halt from speeds upto 160 km/h within a few seconds.Another great aspect of the bike is the handling. For a bike that weighs over 200 kg and is also quite long the bike is very agile. You can maneuver it in the city without feeling like you will fall. The shifts are extremely precise and except from a couple of occasional false neutrals due to my own action of not moving the gear lever the entire way i have no issues with the clutch or the gearbox. The downsides of the bike have to be the lack of instrumentation information , fogging in the instrumentation and the unbelievably stupid placement of the foot pegs.

I purchased the vehicle a week back after a lot of test rides as the delivery of the bike was delayed by 3 months..I don't regret purchasing this vehicle. This bike has a amazing presence.Commands respect..Has power ontap whenever required..Can idle on city roads with ease .A bit heavy though.Rides a bit hot but is acceptable as riding gear becomes necessary. This bike garners a lot of attention with its retro classic looks and the brand name too adds to its value.Don't mistake this bike for a bullet it is not..No vibrations no lethargy no hesitation..It is the swift and ready to race..It is full of pros .Cons..Only if the rider is underweight and can't spend on riding gear...Other than that..The intercepted 650 in my opinion is the last bike a rider will need to purchase... Then enjoy it value for the rest of the life .

  • Subtle Beauty with Raging Performance

    Sanjoy

Got this bike after 3 months of waiting. And worth the wait!! Incredible experience.
I use it daily, for 1300 kms a month, and never had a trouble.
Riding experience is top class, overtaking has never been so easy/effortless. Proper looks of a retro roadster. Guys with a KTM taste buds will be foolish to buy this.
Quality of the parts is top notch, you can check all over and won't find any cheap finish. Since this is a Global product, RE has left no stone unturned.
Servicing is 2.5K per service, with 1.8K for Engine oil(uses 3.5L to keep itself cool). Gives me about 25 km/l(Range 22/29 in city/highway).
Zero vibration, clean acceleration, a king on the road, great handling.
    Yet to find anything negative.

  • Interceptor is an owners delight and a muse for the ones who want to modify the bike

    Dr Syed

Purchased the bike before the covid19 pandemic and used it for 25kms per day riding to work. Enjoyed the power it had behind the throttle. The engine heat is felt during the hot summers during the daytime in city riding, especially for the first 500kms and 1st servicing, but after that, it becomes bearable. Mileage getting 25kmpl in city riding with keeping the rpm around 3000. After riding for 5000 kms, went on a modifying spree during the lockdown and changed the bike into a totally different-looking beast. Be it the handlebar, mirrors, exhausts, air filter, booster plug, the tail light, indicators, alloy rims, big tyres, front headlight, you name it and I changed it. Now easily does 160kmph cruising speed on highways and keeps the mileage also good around 25 itself in the city.
For people who want to remain in stock, this bike is very good. All the OEM items are of high quality and last long.
For those who are stock rebels, and want to modify the bike, your imagination is the limit. There are so many aftermarket spares available. Can change anything and everything to suit your needs.
Servicing which was not upto the mark in 2019 has improved a lot in 2022 and can get hassle-free service, even sitting at home for the general service.
Rsa is another impressive feature given to all the interceptor owners free of cost for 3 yrs which takes away huge stress of what do to during the breakdown of this beast.
Puncture is the only issue I would say which causes some discomfort in this spoked wheel bike, but rsa takes care of that.

  • Bike is good service is not good buy at your own risk.

    Veeresh

Buying & riding, the experience was good. After taking delivery I went to fill the fuel, I noticed inside the petrol tank a small rusting. I thought will inform this later showroom guys after 10 days I reported this when the service team raised this issue to their concerned team, and those technical guys rejected saying that is because of the petrol gun, not rust bla bla. The service center guys told me I had to raise a ticket from my side to re.
Now re guys said they will investigate.
So I would like to suggest you guys before taking delivery of the new bike please to inspect the bike thoroughly.

  • Inty 650 - an amazing bike

    Shibu Thomas Zachariah

The int 650 is an amazing bike and i love every minute of riding it. After my experience of owning a himalayan (bs iii first edition) which was a lemon. I promised myself that i am never ever going with an Indian manufacturer of bikes and even cars however rosy it may look on the outside. This changed (not for cars though) the moment i test-drove an interceptor for the fun of it. The color variant (ravishing red) i wanted was available off-the-shelf and didn't think twice before i bought one. My daily drive to the office and back totaling approximately 70kms was amazing and i simply didn't want to get off the bike at the end of the ride. In fact, traveling to the office became a pleasure for me because i could drive this amazing bike. The looks are top notch and the performance from day one was excellent. The build quality is excellent and the company really spent time reviewing and testing before commercial production. There are no worries of nuts and bolts falling off due to vibrations. Heating was a challenge till the first service post which it reduced or maybe i got used to it. But then this is a 650cc bike some heating will be there. At 6'0 feet and 110kg this bike was perfectly suited for me as the added weight gave more stability at high speeds. Excellent low-end torque means you can pull out of traffic with ease. The engine is extremely refined and the clutch is butter smooth to shift. The bike wants you to push it and it will take it. Heavy as it is at 202 kgs it's not easy to maneuver in traffic but on the highways, it comes into its own and you will feel you are driving a car. Unless you look at the speedo and get that wind blast you will not know the speed which can easily cross 100 kms. I have had no problems with service and i diligently get it serviced every 5 - 6000 kms though the company says 10,000 kms is enough. Maintenance of the sprocket and chain every 500 - 600 kms is a must for long life. The sweet spot is the exhaust. Post crossing around 3500 - 4000 kms the exhaust developed a grunt that is music to my ears and have not needed to replace it with aftermarket ones. The rearview mirrors are usable even at speeds above 100 kms as there are zero vibrations from the engine. Now the cons: the stock seat is one big issue and i got it replaced with an aftermarket one even before the first service. Stock headlights are decent but I got it replaced with after-market led headlights and blinkers, and installed hazard lights too. Stock pirelli (bs iii version) was good and comfortable but not too many after-market options are available for 18" inchers. I have found the brakes to be decent and abs works too but not enough bite. Would have been good if it was a switchable abs but then there are workarounds. Shocks are on the firmer side and bad roads will give you a jarring ride but not enough to impact your back. Being heavy, the bike is not conducive for short rides to your neighborhood stores (wasn't meant for it anyways !). Pillion riders especially the taller ones will keep cribbing as it is really uncomfortable riding posture. Make sure pillion riders keep their feet on the footpegs only as the exhaust is only an inch or so below and its extremely hot and can easily scorch their feet or leg. Removing is easy but refitting the rear tyre is not that simple in case of a puncture. Alloy wheels would have been good but i guess given the weight and riding mechanics spokes are better suited for this bike.
The bike is extremely stable and if your riding posture is right pothole or not - you will land on your feet (wheels ) every time. There are hundreds of after-market accessories for the 650 twins that depending on your tastes you can modify/upgrade.
Those planning on buying the interceptor need not think twice. This bike will give you an experience you will not regret. Btw ....I have been riding bikes for 35+ years now starting with the yezdi (the original one).

  • One of the best bikes from royal enfield stable

    Nikhil Jain

I bought interceptor 650 from munjani motors, surat. Though i had to wait for more than 6 months to get my hand on this bike but my overall experience with munjani motors was great. Now coming to the bike, though this bike is from royal enfield but believe me it's nothing like royal enfield and probably its the best bike manufactured by royal enfield to date. This bike has got road presence, torque and power to keep you hooked up to the machine.Cons - engine does heat up a little-bit but with 650 cc engine this is expected.Foot pegs are awkwardly placed and creates problem while pushing the bike in traffic condition.

  • Parallel twin 650 for 3l
