Honda Africa-Twin based NT1100 touring bike revealed!

- Honda NT1100 revealed

- Gets Africa Twin engine

- Design is quite radical

Honda has finally unveiled their new big touring motorcycle – the NT1100. This tourer is based on the famous Africa Twin and yes, it does look a bit radical.

Honda says that this bike is for riders who wants comfort practicality and performance of a modern adventure bike but doesn’t want the intimidating nature of it and also the cost. So there’s a market for such bikes as they tend to offer bang for their bucks along with lots of pillion comfort.

The N1100 gets a large bodywork that does make the bike look big and extremely enticing. The sharp fascia, large adjustable windscreen and aerodynamic styling does make the NT1100 look really good.

The NT1100 gets its power from a 1084cc parallel twin from the Africa Twin. The intakes and exhausts are new. As a result the bike produces 100.5bhp @ 7250rpm and the torque figure remains unchanged. This Honda is built around a steel frame and an aluminium subframe from the AT. But the suspension travel is much lesser at 150mm and the bike rides on 17-inch wheels. This has got down the seat height to 820mm, making it quite accessible to the masses.

The bike borrows most of the electronics from AT. Things like cornering ABS, lean sensitive traction control and wheel control can be seen on the NT1100. Multiple riding modes also comes as standard. The 6.5-inch TFT instrument screen looks lovely and is also Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible. The display options are also customizable.

The Honda NT1100 will mostly likely come to India next year, but expect it at a price tag which might make it unreasonable. It costs about Rs 12.38 lakh in UK.
