DSK Motowheels may get the Italian motorcycle manufacturer Benelli to India. This report has come from the Autocar India, who claims to have received this information from a source close to this deal.
DSK Motowheels, in India, currently sells Hyosung motorcycles ranging between 250cc and 750cc. All the motorcycles are currently assembled at their Wai facility and they have also planned a second plant in Maharashtra. Benelli is one of the oldest motorcycle companies in the world that sells motorcycles ranging between 300cc and 1131cc. The contemporary looking bikes make it stand out from rest of the Japanese and European manufacturers. However, the brand is not known in the country and it will be very difficult for DSK to establish it in India.
We are still trying to figure out on DSK Motowheels is interested in this partnership, as it already does business with the Korean manufacturer Hyosung. We know that Italian machines look very attractive and beautiful, but to get a brand like Benelli to India may turn out to be a costly affair. So whether this rumour comes to pass or not, we will have to wait and see.
