CF Moto 300NK vs KTM 390 Duke: Specification Comparison

CF Moto is ready to make its debut in India on 19 July. As we had reported earlier, it will launch four motorcycles in the country including the 650NK, 650MT, 650GT and, the 300NK. Considering the latter, the 300NK will be entering into a highly competitive segment which consists of value-for-money products such as the KTM 390 Duke. While we await the 300NK’s arrival, let’s see how it fares against the 390 Duke, on paper.

Styling:

The 300NK and 390 Duke share a relatively similar design which could be attributed to the fact that both the motorcycles are created by KISKA design firm. Both bikes boast of an aggressive stance with a muscular fuel tank, sharp tank extensions, split seat, exposed frame and a petite tail section. The 390 Duke gets an orange painted frame and alloy wheels for both the available colour options (orange and white), something that makes its styling further appealing. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen what colour schemes CF Moto introduces for the 300NK in India.

Features:

Coming to the features, the 390 Duke clearly outshines its rivals in India. The naked streetbike features full-LED lighting along with LED DRL. It gets a full-colour TFT LCD display which shows a host of information while it is Bluetooth enabled for allowing the rider to connect their smartphone. As for the 300NK, while it also gets a full-colour TFT instrument console, the unit is not Bluetooth supported. However, the display gets two layouts to choose from including Sport and Rain mode.

Engine:

The KTM 390 Duke is the segment leader in this department as well. The motorcycle is propelled by a 373.3cc liquid-cooled, fuel injected engine which is mated to a six-speed gearbox accompanied by a slipper clutch. This motor belts out 42.9bhp of power and 37Nm of torque. Now, the 300NK is powered by a 292.4cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected mill which generates 32.5bhp and 20.5Nm. Although it gets a six-speed gearbox, the 300NK lacks slipper clutch.

Cycle parts:

Underpinned by a steel trellis frame, both motorcycles feature upside down forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. In terms of braking, while both bikes are equipped with discs at both ends assisted by dual-channel ABS, the 390 Duke offers three modes of ABS – On, Off and Supermoto. The 300NK, on the other hand, does not feature switchable ABS setup. The fuel tank of the 300NK is a 12.5-litre unit while that of the 390 Duke boasts of a larger fuel tank capacity by 1-litre. However, the CF Moto weighs 151kgs which makes it 12kgs lighter than its rival from KTM.

Pricing:

Considering the top class features and equipment along with the potent engine, the KTM 390 Duke is a bang for the buck with a price tag of Rs 2.48 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Subsequently, CF Moto also intends to place its products on the affordable side of the spectrum. With that being the case, the 300NK should be priced around Rs 2.20 lakhs to Rs 2.40 lakhs.
