2021 MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR: Details Explained

MV Agusta has updated its Brutale 800 RR for the model year 2021 in the international markets. The naked roadster now gets a revised frame, new electronics and a EURO5 compliant engine. The price starts from Euro 17,000, which converts to Rs 15 lakh. While its India launch seems farfetched, let's take a look at the details of the new Brutale 800 RR.

Right Front Three Quarter

Design

The Brutale 800 RR comes with a sharp and aggressive design. It gets a circular-shaped headlamp with red highlights inside of it, graphics on its chiselled 16.5-litre fuel tank, underbelly pan, split seat setup and a golden coloured triple barrel exhaust. It further comes with a few nifty touches like an Italian flag on its tank extensions and M logo on its front forks. The bike is available in two colour options: Carbon Black Metallic/Avio Grey Metallic and Shock Pearl Red/Avio Grey.

TFT / Instrument Cluster

Features

In terms of features, it comes equipped with all-LED lights, a five-inch TFT instrument cluster that supports MV ride app, Bluetooth mobistat tracker, continental ABS MK100 with RLM that includes a cornering function, launch control, cruise control, torque control with four maps and a quick shifter. It also gets a new IMU inertial platform which further increases the quality of electronics like traction control and wheelie control system.

Engine

The naked roadster is powered by a 798cc three-cylinder Euro5 engine that produces 138.12bhp at 12,300rpm and 87Nm at 10,250rpm. All this power and torque is taken to its rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox. This engine and transmission combination allows it to hit a top speed of 244kmph.

Hardware

The suspension duty is handled by Marzocchi upside-down aluminium telescopic forks at the front and Progressive Sachs with a single shock absorber at the rear. Meanwhile, the braking is taken care of by 320mm double floating disc with Brembo four-piston callipers at the front and 220mm single disc with Brembo two-piston callipers at the rear. The bike runs on 17-inch wheels. The front wheel is wrapped with a tyre having 120mm of width. Meanwhile, the rear wheel is wrapped with a tyre having 180mm width.
