Yamaha India’s electric scooter could be ready only by 2025

-         Yamaha’s first e-scooter likely to be launched by 2025

-         Development under progress

-         Showcased some EVs to dealers recently

Yamaha India has finally released a concrete timeline to launch its first electric scooter for the country. And that is by 2025.

According to a report, the Japanese brand is already working on an electric scooter and is finding ways to take the right EV approach. They are also looking at importing full-ready e-scooters or assembling them here. These statements show that the brand is still relatively early in this EV plan for the country.

Currently, Yamaha sells a few EVs in Taiwan and a few in Europe. However, none of these scooters could go as a mass-market product due to the hefty pricing. For the Indian market, it needs to develop a scooter that will also be entirely manufactured to make it competitively priced. The company is also looking at making these EVs here and export worldwide.

Yamaha didn’t see the EV burst in India, which is why it is a little late to the market. Nevertheless, we are expecting this Japanese brand to launch something styling
