Ultraviolet F77 India launch: What to expect

Bengaluru-based start-up, Ultraviolette Automotive has announced that it will launch its first electric motorcycle, the F77 in the Indian market on 24 November, 2022. This electric motorcycle will pack high performance along with modern features and here we tell you what to expect from the Ultraviolette F77.

Sporty Design

The new F77 electric motorcycle will feature a modern design that comprises a single-pod headlight at the front, fibre-cover over the front forks, fairing-style cover for the battery pack, and split-style seats. It will pack sporty ergonomics, and come equipped with a clip-on style handlebar for a committed rider’s triangle. Further enhancing its sporty styling is the high-set tail section that gives the F77 an aggressive look.

Performance

The sporty design of the F77 will be complemented by performance numbers. This electric motorcycle will use a 25kW motor that is claimed to produce 34.7bhp of power and 90Nm of torque. The company claims a 0-60kmph acceleration in just 2.9 seconds while the top speed is rated at 140kmph.

Long Range

The first electric motorcycle from Ultraviolette will use three lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 4.2kW each. The claimed battery range stands at 200km on a full charge while the charging time via a standard charger is rated at five hours. The range will vary depending on the selected riding modes. These include Eco, Sports, and Insane. The company’s fast-charger, on the other hand, can top the batteries up in an hour and a half. Meanwhile, the battery system will come with safety features such as short-circuit and over-voltage protection, Adaptive State-of-Charge (SOC) estimation, and State-of-Health estimation algorithm.

Modern Features

The F77 will come equipped with modern features and the list will include full-LED lighting and a five-inch TFT touchscreen display with Bluetooth- and LTE-connectivity. The module will work with dedicated smartphone apps that would be available on both, Android and iOS. This will show various information such the maximum lean angle, rate of acceleration, and accident and fall detection. Further, it benefits from the FindMyBike safety feature as well.

Variants and Availability

Ultraviolette will offer the F77 in three variants – Shadow, Lightning, and Laser. The differences between the three will be limited to colours only. This new electric motorcycle will be launched across the country in a phased manner, starting with Bengaluru. The company also plans to expand presence in the US and Europe, although the timeline for exports is not available yet.
