Norton shuts down Atlas 650cc range project

-         650cc Atlas project axed

-         Brand working on new bikes

-         TVS may have taken this call

Norton Motorcycles has finally decided to stop working on their most awaited 650cc parallel-twin project. This news was confirmed when the brand sent an email to one of the prospective customers.

The British brand had unveiled the 650cc Atlas bikes in two models – Nomad and Ranger. These bikes were in concept form then and were developed under the old management. However, once TVS took over the company, a lot of things were changed and that’s when the call to cancel this project may have been taken.

According to a report, the brand is working on developing a new range of motorcycles that will be modern but also have a rich heritage. Due to this new approach, the Atlas project may not have been feasible for the company.

While we are excited to see the new motorcycles from Norton, it is quite saddening to see the 650cc parallel-twin platform won’t see the light of the day, because this bike would have been good for a market like India.
