At first it was rather underwhelming hearing no news from UM Motorcycles about the launch of a new product. The reason for this could be that the company was busy consolidating its presence in Europe with its existing model line-up on display at Intermot 2016.
UM had a total of 11 models on display which included the manufacturer's DSR, Renegade and Xtreet series. The company who has already signed five importers (United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Portugal and Spain) took the occasion of the exhibition to meet some potential importers to cover other European countries.
Mr Juan Villegas, global director business development at UM International, LLC (USA) said, “Our philosophy is to offer our clients an opportunity to ride an exciting, modern, unique motorcycle line up at a price that will be easy on the pocket." For 2016, only Euro IV regulated 125cc models with fuel injection will be sold through Europe.
The brand has only two variants of its Renegade series – Sport S and Commando – on sale in India and is targeting sales of 1,000 units per month.
