Indian Motorcycle is working on new safety systems for motorcycles and its riders. The company is developing radar and camera safety systems.

The company has filed patents for these new systems that are likely to be seen on the motorcycles in the next few years. This American motorcycle brand has joined the European companies like KTM, Ducati who have already incorporated some these systems on their motorcycles.

According to leaked patent pictures, Indian has applied for a patent that covers a host of sensors placed around the motorcycle. Along with keeping an eye on the traffic ahead using cameras and sensors, there will also be a few cameras placed at the back of the bike to monitor the vehicles behind and to either side.

Indian is planning to install a total of five sensors – two mounted on the engine crash bars, two more at the rear edges of the panniers and the fifth one near the taillight. It looks like the company wants to create the best safety system for its riders and we believe it will first bring this system to its most expensive range.
