Ducati has unveiled the 2020 version of its most powerful Monster, the Monster 1200 S. This motorcycle for the new year receives only cosmetic updates and a new colour scheme.
Ducati terms this new variant as ‘Black on Black’ as the entire bike is dipped in black. The frame, fuel tank, wheels and the most of the cycle parts are covered in black. The front fork tubes, however, get the premium gold finish and there’s also a dash of red on the wheels.
There are no mechanical changes as of now as this model will continue to sell with Euro 4 motor till next year. That means, this motorcycle is likely to see some major changes in 2021. For now, the 2020 Monster S continues to churn out 147bhp of raw power at 9250rpm and 127Nm of peak torque. Just like the rest of the Ducatis, this one too is loaded to the brim when it comes to safety equipment. The bike gets the Ducati Safety Pack that means things like traction and wheelie control and cornering ABS are present. The Ducati Quick Shift comes as standard.
Unfortunately, this motorcycle won’t come to India as the Indian arm of Ducati doesn’t sell the Monster 1200 range in the country. It used to sell a few years ago, but there was no demand for the Monster 1200 due to which the 2018 models never made it to our shores.
