2019 Suzuki Hayabusa – What else can you buy

While we are nearing the end of the current generation Hayabusa. Suzuki launched the 2019 version of the motorcycle. It remains unchanged mechanically but receives new set of colours including metallic ort grey and glass sparkle black along with side reflectors. At Rs 13.74 lakhs (ex-showroom), the sports tourer still remains one of the most affordable big bikes. However, if you are looking for alternatives with similar price, here are the options.

There are a host of adventure tourers in this segment that are loaded with features and touring capabilities. Starting with Triumph, the company has the Tiger 800 XCx and XCA, latter boasting of more touring-oriented features such as heated grips, fog lamps and GPS mounting kit. Both the bikes are powered by an 800cc, triple-cylinder engine that churns out 94bhp of power and 79Nm of torque. The Tiger 800 XCx is priced at Rs 13.89 lakhs and the XCA variants costs Rs 14.37 lakhs. At Rs 13.26 lakhs, one can also have the road-biased Tiger 800 XRx which gets the same engine.

Other ADV options include the Honda Africa Twin retailing at Rs 13.30 lakhs and, what you get is a potent off and on road bike powered by a 999.11cc, twin-cylinder engine. It is mated to a DCT (dual clutch transmission) gearbox and churns out 86.04bhp and 93.1Nm. From BMW’s portfolio, you can opt for the F850 GS that retails at Rs 12.95 lakhs. It is powered by an 853cc, twin-cylinder motor that makes 93bhp and 98Nm. Italian bikemaker, Ducati, has the spanking Multistrada 950 with 937cc, twin-cylinder motor that is good for 111bhp and 96.2Nm. It gets the price tag of Rs 12.90 lakhs. At a bit higher price comes the Suzuki V-Strom 1000 that costs Rs 13.54 lakhs and gets a 1037cc, twin-cylinder, 99bhp motor.

For those seeking a cruiser, there are four options worth considering. First, the Harley-Davidson Street Bob which comes for Rs 13 lakhs and, is powered by a 64bhp/144Nm, 1,745cc, air-cooled engine. Indian Motorcycles offers the Scout with a 1130.7cc, liquid-cooled motor good for 98.7bhp and 97.7Nm. The Scout demands for Rs 12.69 lakhs. And, in Moto Guzzi’s line-up, the V9 Roamer and Bobber get the same 853cc, air-cooled motor and pricing (Rs 13.22 lakhs) but have been styled tad differently according to their purpose.

The streetfighter fans can consider the Aprilia Shiver 900 and its supermoto counterpart, the Dorsoduro 900 that are priced at Rs 12.95 lakhs and Rs 13.45 lakhs, respectively. Both are propelled by a, 896cc, liquid-cooled engine that pumps out 92.5bhp and 90Nm. However, if aggressive styling and abundance of power is your cup of tea, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R is the most affordable litre-class sportsbike at Rs 12.8 lakhs. Its 998cc, inline-four cylinder engine churns out a hefty 197.3bhp and 113.5Nm and, is loaded with electronics to the brim.
