Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 spied testing in India

- Spotted testing around Bajaj plant in Pune.

- Sports café-racer styling, based on KTM 390 Duke.

Bajaj has been spotted testing the Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 around its Pune manufacturing facility. 

The bike is expected to arrive in India in 2020 priced around Rs 3 lakhs. The Vitpilen 401 or ‘White Arrow’ sports a modern-retro café-racer styling. It gets lower-set, clip-on handlebars and slightly rear-set foot pegs for an aggressive riding position. The round headlamp exudes a retro appeal, although the full-LED lighting adds a modern touch. 

The Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 is based on the KTM 390 Duke and borrows most of its components from the latter. It uses the same 373cc, single-cylinder motor as the KTM which produces 43bhp and 37Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch. The Vitpilen rides on 43mm, upside down forks sourced from WP and a monoshock at the rear. Braking hardware is also similar to the 390 Duke with a 320mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc with ABS as standard. 

The bike is likely to arrive in India in 2020 and being positioned above the 390 Duke, is expected to be priced around Rs 3 lakhs. The Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 will directly compete against the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 here.
