The best bike to ride with pride
Speed is awesome just throttle it and it runs fast and furious jut be safe as pick up is too good and fast while driving
Maintenances need to be done periodically so the bike gives good mileage and running freedom of worry
Riding the bike gives you a feel as if you are riding this with the pride.

  • Which should be buy royal enfield classic 350 or thunderbird 350.

    Darshan

I previously own a royal enfield classic 350. And let me share my experience. I'm one of the several people who fell for the looks of the motorcycle, who fell for its connect with the person who rides (possibly due to the vibrations), who fell for its low end torque, who fell for its sound. Initially it will attract you a lot and it will make you feel like a king of the road. As you are on love with the bike, you will love its pros and love even more for its cons! now coming to the performance it is a lazy elephant which took almost 16seconds to reach 100kph, with a ton of vibrations. But you will love it during short rides and can't cope with after 30minutes. Because after riding over 100kph over 30minutes, your hands will be numb and your whole body vibrates. And to come over this feeling, you need a healthy 30minutes of break. So riding under 80kph helps but not much by a significant margin. So, let's talk about the comfort, with the stock handlebar, I've had a lot of lower back pain. With rd350 handlebar, classic's perch is better for atleast 30 minutes if ridden sanely under 80kph. After that, I've sharp pain in my knees due to constant vibrations from footpegs no matter the rpm you choose to ride. If ridden above 80kph, two more pains will shoot: one from my shoulders and other from my b**t due to the vibrations it has on offer. Talking about mileage, it will provide me 33kpl if ridden over 100kph, 38kpl if ridden at 80kph, 44kpl if ridden under 60kph.Throttle response is lazier due to carburetor, now it is much better due to the addition of fi. Brakes are poor, front disc is less bitey and rear drum brakes are wooden (now even comes with rear disc, but still feels wooden). Ride quality is good. Tube tyres are a problem. (tubeless is on offer today)and coming to the maintenance part, it digs a hole in your pocket during paid service. Free service costs a maximum of inr.1500. But paid service cost minimum is inr.2500. And at 24000kms, a paid service costed me around inr.10,000. People at royal enfield service centre never repairs but just replaces. It may be due to the sub-par quality of the spare parts. So, on even years (after first year with free services) you need to allocate around inr.6000 for servicing it. And on odd years, you must pay inr.8000-10,000 for servicing. In 3years of ownership, I've spent around inr.25,000 for services alone. I've used it for 3years and ridden it for 30thousand kilometers and finally have sold it due to heavy vibrations which causes me consistent right shoulder pain and also high maintenance it demands over years. Finally the resale value is good. Conclusion: it is pointless to buy 350cc machines from royal enfield today. Better opt for their 411cc or 650cc machines. If you want to buy a 350 from enfield, wait for their j platform launch. Thank god, they bid adeu for their 500cc uce engines. Don't commit the mistake I've once committed. Still in august 2020, this classic 350 is their best seller. Royal enfield doesn't want to let their mulching cow, that's why they are gonna introduce the new j platform engines in their lower selling model, thunderbird. People must change!!! for those who are in a hurry to buy a classic or bullet 350.

  • Bike for long trips

    Kaushik

I'm using this bike from last 3 years. The bike is good if you're long distance travellers. It won't perform good in city. In traffic you'll cry for this bike, why you brought. Overall the bike is ok. In city commute you'll feel the power is less. The bike is heavy, if you're good health then you can manage this. You can't view in rear mirror because there is lot of vibration. If you're planning this bike only for trips then this is really good. Otherwise for city traffic it is worse machine.

  • Re tb 350 honest 3 year review

    Phagun Adhupiya

Bought it in Feb, 2014 after a months waiting but it was worth it. I guess, the waiting period has increased since then.

My story starts from 2012 auto-show where i saw my bird for the first time and had fallen for it. Was actually confused whether to go for 350 cc or 500 cc, i decided to go with lighter engine considering my pocket and fuel mileage at that time. I probably should have bought 500 cc. When you start riding bikes of these engines, you crave for more power. And that's where 350 limits you somehow. So, first advice is to choose bigger engine. Mileage hardly makes a difference when you ride bikes over 300 cc.

I use it for weekend getaways and long rides every 4-5 months. City ride is little difficult due to body type and bulkiness. Again, you can't blame bike alone, delhi ncr traffic is real culprit though.

Bike is extremely comfortable for long rides. It does give you a correct posture and you don't feel tired even after days long ride. Performance is good in terms of mileage (around 30kmpl for city and around 40kmpl for highway), pickup and braking. Engine performance is better if maintained in timely fashion. Things that need attention are battery, meter and headlamp.

I got all of them changed under warranty and have seen similar cases reported as well. It has projector headlamp and if anything goes wrong, entire light has to be changed. It can't be repaired.Replacement costs your around 6kinr. Same goes for meter, this is most faulty thing they are procuring. Again, single button is not working, entire meter needs replacement. It may damage even during rains/washing of vehicle. It again cost your pocket around 6kinr. Battery they give you with vehicle is not very reliable. If you're installing too many extra lights, fog lamps, strobe lights etc. It is advisable to get new heavy duty battery fixed from market.

But i would like to mention that staff is really cooperative and they makes sure experience riding this machine is exceptional.

Advisable to get service from authorized re service centers and it should be timely.

If you're not a keen rider, please don't buy. You may end up selling it in few months. You would have that love for machines to own it.

Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox engine is good. Good mileage and gear is bit hard, but ok. Ride quality & handling comfortable ride and handling won't be an issue once you get used to.Final words totally satisfied with a bike. Before getting it, i prepared myself because that was my first experience with the bike before that i was using pulsar 150cc. I already aware that it is not a normal japanese kind bike so whatever issues i had faced after getting it, it was not surprised me. I have learn few safety and riding tricks by experience. So when i realises someone is complaining about these machines i always count these people in that japanese kind bike rider class. They are not matured enough for these machines. I am not saying that i am perfect here, but i always try to be. Few tricks may be it helps new comers,I) always first start in a day with kick not using button start.Ii) keep a bike start in an ideal rpm (700-100 rpm) for at-least 2 mins.Iii) before taking it in first gear gives some acceleration (about 1.5k-2k rpm).Iv) ride smoothly, try to up-shift gear when engine rpm reaches upto 2.5k-3k rpm.V) try to ride bike in proper gear. (many times i do not able to shift it in fifth gear due to road conditions).Vi) use proper engine oil (i use motul 3000 4t plus 15w50) and replace it after certain intervals (5k-6k).Vii) try to keep your bike clean. Do it by yourself, because it gives you better understanding of your bike.Viii) learn little maintenance by reading user manual.Ix) feel your bike. It will respond you.I have completed almost 35k in 2 years, including some long trips.Yes! totally satisfied.

  • Royal enfield my dream which was completed.

    Sagar Bansal

My childhood aim was ride on royal enfield because it's look awesome according to me and when i came in 11th class my father gifted me a royal enfield that time i was very shocked to saw a royal enfield in front of me. This was my first 350 cc bike earlier i have hero passion pro which i exchanged with this bike. The riding experience is good & you can feel it from first day and it give full satisfaction on long tour because you never feel tiredness when you ride on royal enfield. It gives you power when you need it & delivers it very fast & accurate. As you all know that the bike maintenance really & only depends on riders because only he knows that at what manner he drives the bike. So maintaining the bike is a big question for every rider should keep in mind of his bike to ensure good mileage, looks etc. Pros & cons are all mind thought the things which we like may not like by others so pros & cons are no more in use now days. Satisfaction should be considered if you satisfied than there is no cons & if you are not satisfied than there is all pros turned into cons.

  • Not nearly good enough

    Aditya

The wait time for any royal enfield has decreased over the years. The ride has a few problems like braking issues, electrical issues, and vibrations above the speed of 75kmph which the company never bothers to address. In regards to service re has a very few service centres that actually are good. For a 350cc bike it lacks power and lets us down in terms of speed as well. Overall if u only want to use the vehicle for the prestigious re status it's a good pick else please don't buy this bike.

  • Re thunderbird 350

    Suhas Machave

I have re thunderbird 350 (2011 model). Engine of bike is so powerful, it delivers ample of power and torque. Due to its cruiser shape it gives you comfortable relax ride on highway. Vibrations at top speed are slightly more but it again depend upon silencer, if you use company fitted silencer then vibrations are little bit less n power output is more. Weight of re is more than 180 kgs, due to the same it have better stability on highway, but also due to its heavier weight inertia is also playing big role while driving re, compare to weight its breaks are not so powerful it could be the better. Kindly not to do any external modifications on re which will increase its weight more.

Do the service of your RE in every 6 month, oil change and break liner change in every 1 year, to maintain health of your RE. Use company fitted silencer for less vibrations n more power & torque output. Also not to do any external modifications which will increase its weight & inertia.
