Honda Shine is a good bike; it's suitable for a middle-class family. This bike is comfortable and has good mileage, but my fear is regarding E20 petrol. My bike is from 2021. I don't know whether it supports E20 petrol or not km.

    My first bike

After 3 years and more than 27,000 km of ownership, the Honda Shine has impressed me as my first motorcycle. While Honda's initial sales and service experience was disappointing, the motorcycle itself has proven to be reliable, efficient, and practical.
The bike has been ridden primarily by me, with occasional use by friends. It serves as my daily commuter and is also used for occasional highway rides.
    Pros
    1. Excellent Fuel Efficiency
The Honda Shine consistently delivers a minimum mileage of around 65 km/l under normal riding conditions. On highways, while maintaining a steady cruising speed of approximately 40 km/h with minimal clutch usage and interruptions, I have even achieved close to 100 km/l on multiple occasions. Although it may sound unrealistic, this was observed and recorded during several rides.
    2. Outstanding Build Quality
The paint finish and overall quality of components are excellent. Even after three years of ownership, the motorcycle still looks relatively new thanks to regular maintenance and cleaning.
    3. Strong City Performance
The engine feels more capable than what one would expect from a 125cc motorcycle. It can comfortably cruise between 60-70 km/h without feeling strained and is capable of reaching a top speed of around 100 km/h under favorable conditions.
    Cons
    1. Braking Could Be Better
The braking performance is adequate for everyday riding, but the absence of Single-Channel ABS is noticeable, especially during rainy conditions and on slippery surfaces. ABS would have significantly improved rider confidence and safety.
    Overall Verdict
Overall, I am highly satisfied with the Honda Shine. It has proven to be economical, dependable, and exceptionally well-built. At times, seeing motorcycles such as the N160, NS200, FZ-S V2, Pulsar 150, and even the Splendor with their modern styling and additional features makes me question my purchase decision. However, when I consider fuel efficiency, reliability, refinement, and long-term ownership costs, the Honda Shine continues to justify my choice.
If I were to upgrade, the Honda Unicorn 160 would be my preferred option. It offers better braking with Single-Channel ABS, a higher cruising and top-speed capability, and one of the smoothest and most refined engines I have ridden. In terms of refinement, it stands out not only among motorcycles in its segment but even when compared with some electric scooters such as the Ather.
    Rating: 3.5/5
A practical, reliable, and fuel-efficient motorcycle that continues to excel as a daily commuter even after years of ownership.
