About CBR250R

The Honda CBR250R is Honda's 250cc single-cylinder sportbike that competes with the other fully faired machines in a similar price bracket. The 2018 model year CBR250R has two big changes: one, it is now BS4 compliant, and two, there is an LED headlamp. The rest of the motorcycle stays unchanged other than a tweak to the shape of the headlamp. It will be available in two colours - orange and green. The green was on display at the Auto Expo and is reminiscent of the Hornet's colour and graphics combination. The engine remains a 249cc fuel-injected single that is liquid cooled with 26bhp and 23Nm running through a six-speed gearbox. Braking is delivered by a 296mm front disc and 220mm rear disc. As always, ABS with CBS will be an option. The 2018 Honda CBR250R will compete with the TVS Apache RR310, KTM RC200, Yamaha Fazer 25, and Bajaj Pulsar RS200.

Honda CBR250R Expert Opinion

  • Good Things

    • The 250cc motor is quite refined and punchy
    • Striking LED headlamp design
    • Comfortable riding stance
  • Could be Better

    • One of the most expensive in the segment
    • Lacks low end torque

BikeWale's Take

A very capable bike for touring and an excellent bike to enter the quarter-litre segment. However, the motorcycle has been long overdue for an major update and is also pricey compared to its rivals.

Overall great driving experience. The bike's top speed goes up to 150-160 on highways. Although on regular basis in traffic easily runs between 70-100 kmph. Balancing and buildup quality are excellent. It's also reliable, very cheap to run, has a good build quality, loo

Owning an abs variant of cbr250r since 2014, clocked over 45,000 kms and the engine is still going strong. Crashed hard a few times but the build quality is rock solid with minimal vibrations at the top end even after 7 years. The looks of the bike is inspired directly

Everything is excellent in this bike but one thing that I miss in it, that is gear indicator, it doesn't show that in which gear we are riding it. If I talk about it's look, really amazing. I think it is the best motorcycle in this 250cc segment. It requires very less m

Nothing to complain, the only downside is mileage in city. It's best for long rides/ touring. I've ridden about 45000 kms and still running smooth Refinement is great and that's what to expect from Honda, Some people do say that the looks are outdated, put it next to a
