Venom Traction Long Touring Boots

Over the years, I have realised that hardly any of these so-called waterproof gear are capable of withstanding the might of an Indian monsoon. I have now become used to getting drenched during my motorcycle rides. However, my feet might have a respite this monsoon, thanks to the Venom Traction Long touring boots.

Based out of Delhi, Venom Moto is a relatively new name among riding gear manufacturers. It started off with the Asphalt riding jacket in December 2016, and now has a slew of riding gear and accessories, a bunch of which are targeted at touring enthusiasts. What we have here is the Venom Traction, a pair of touring boots. Unlike the Royal Enfield long riding boots (link), which are meant for adventure touring, these are biased towards sports touring and commuting, and the theme here is comfort. 

The biggest problem with tall black riding boots is that they can easily be mistaken for Wellington boots. Not with these though. The Traction boots have elastic bellows at the front and back which improve the flexibility and shock absorbing support, while giving it a good look. There is extra protection on the lateral side of the ankles and TPR layers around the big toe for the gear lever (both the boots have them, so they should be effective in CI block Royal Enfields too). Your shins and toes are also protected by stiff reinforcements. There are reflective strips at the rear, although I feel like they are too tiny to be very effective. Inside, you have a layer of soft cusion which keeps your foot comfortable. The waterproof liner offers protection up to the ankles. The Venom Traction gets YKK zippers which are backed up by tough Velcro panels.
