  • Complaint against b6 new engine

    Amrendra Kumar

I have purchased royal enfield classic-350 efi- gun metal grey bs6 engine bike on 19/01/2020 from north delhi motorcycles-520. I am so happy that finally i have purchased my dream bike which have planned last 2 years. But unfortunately, i have faced so many problems in few days:-Clutch plate damage after running only 129 km. silencer color change to abnormal- change to dark red and brown color. lose wiring issues, horn was not working while driving.Pickup issue-due to clutch problem in bike. gear problem- while changing gear it stuck most of the times. while running 1-2 km, silencer over heated as compare to other same modal bike. So it is sign of over heating of engine. Which may occur major problem in bike. Engine overheating & thus engine seizure symptoms are there.I completely shock that all above problems come in my new bike which run only 129 km. Being royal enfield a big brand, company always promised to satisfy the customers in sense of durability and comfort. Whereas i am not satisfied and my trust breaked on royal enfield in their quality and goodwill. I also want to raise a question on quality report of my bike. so i suggest to all buy another brand new bike.

  • Royal enfield bikes are not for everyone !

    Raj

I own 2015 classic 350 and i've been regretting that decision for a long time now. The main reason is that re bikes are not for everyone cause every person has different taste in bikes but ends buying an re because of it's thump and retro looks, that's the major mistake they'll make and ends up regretting it.Major issues are: 1. Vibrations - oh man you can't get rid of it and it's starts when the engine is on. The mirrors are useless because you can't see anything cause of vibrations. I changed my stock mirrors three times! because the mirror get broken of vibrations.2. Maintenance- average cost of 2500 is spent for every service which is costly considering it rivals. Once i didn't ride my bike for a month and got some problems when it came back from service the bill was for 8000 !!! my 2018 maruti dzire got serviced last week and the bill was less than 6k, considering this it's absolute waste of money to spend it on re. 3. Mileage - i get average of 32-35 on city and highway. 4. Highway - you can't go above 80km/hr because of vibrations, if you're intending to go further it's up to your risk. They say it's a cruiser but it's a nightmare to ride it in highway. Few days back i got back from a short ride in highway when i was back the battery cover was gone, it flew off from the battery even though it was locked and it costed me 900 rupees to install new. Really?? 900rs for a battery cover ! I thought re are for people older people who likes to ride it slow under 60km/hr. So i switched bikes with my dad who owns a pulsar 180. A week later my dad returned it with all the complaints and he hated riding it coz of vibrations and all stuffs. You may say the bs4 version is refined and all but i've ridden that too it's more or less the same. Conclusion: royal enfield used to be great when only one or two bikes can be seen in an area and you would be going looking through window when a bike passes by with a thumping sound. But it's changed you can't see a street without 4-5 re's. From school going kids to people of every working class has an re. It's not an stand out bike anymore.

I had to wait for 6 month for delivery, even after paying 1.5lac showroom people hardly seem supportive. Riding is good, just keep spare clutch and accelerator wire as they tend to brake regardless of road condition. Service centre those are maintained by re are worst place to repair your bike, if you have option of independent service always go to that place instead of re service centre as post service one more trip to service centre is compulsory and they will make sure that your working parts should also stop working. Pros: legacy (not aware how long it will continue)Cons: service, spare parts, and extremely high cost to ownership.

    1) buying experience: It was good as showroom here in open has well trained staff they told me about almost every detail of classic 350 and its variants.2) riding experience: Well in case of classic 350. I have seen people having different different opinion Some are happy with what the company is offering as they royal enfield is big brand with huge fan base So they ignore the issues with the bike. My riding experience was good as this bike perform well on and off road Seat is comfortable with great handle positioning. So this bike can we taken for long rides. Look - as you can understand from name it look classic :) and well good, try single seat Performance - it has 350 cc still the engine delivers only 19.5 or 20 bhp power which is very less, torque is decent 28But i feel bike lack a good cruise speed Its start vibrating whenever i cross 75+Bike lack 6th gear (with improved engine) probably which would help it to gain speed around 140 There is need of radiator with oil coolie technology in classic cause it produce a lot of heat.Fuel indicator warning system is good but still i feel there should be standard or digital fuel meter in the bike.Engine gear system is not modern It make noises while changing gear And if an inexperienced rider ride this bike probably it would damage the gear. Gear is not smooth and make huge noise when we try to switch gear fast. Smooth gearing system is must nowadays Chain is exposed and should have cover to protect it from dust and water Stock silencer is long and beautiful but it easily get hit in big breakers and little off road tracks Even design of rear disk brake paddle is not up to mark We have to be careful that rear brake paddle should not be pressed while on a speed breaker and it can strike the breaker and can break down easily The himalaya version of rear disk paddle is good.I feel like some oil leaks from engine mid section i have seen this in many classic 350R e servicing is quit expensive and many of mechanics do not repair bike properly They always try their best to add on the service bill Abs could have better Specially front brakes Bike lacks abs switch on off system Bike lack charging hub which is now been offered in meteor 350It is difficult to take out rear wheel The back mud guard support rod make it more difficult for mechanic and tyre repairing guy to apply pana for opening nut of rear wheel road (right side close to silencer plate. Spoke wheel should have been designed to support tubeless tyre Alloy rim is not good for long ride and offroad ride with this bike.

  • Very very bad service by RE & Basirhat service centre.

    Shyama Mondal

Dear RE brothers, Its an emotion but nowadays they are just playing with us and with their build quality. On potholed roads my alloy wheels cracked. It was bought 24 days ago. Have been provided with 2 years warranty but RE just bypassed their responsibility for Cash. Basirhat service center teams personal are too egoistic & have tons of attitude. RE we believe, you wont let it go. Service team of Basirhat service centre told me the reason was overload. Seriously RE?

  • Worst maintenance cost and service

    Dharma

I have been with classic from last three years. I have driven 50k kms. So i am writing this with lot of experience. I will say no go call for classic, because of the maintenance cost. Every-time my servicing cost will be 3,500 to 5,000. Some times it crosses 5k. Car will be better to maintain instead of this. Mileage wise no issues. Think before you take classic 350. Every-time you will be end up with highly maintainable product. These days servicing centres are not caring due to more bikes.

  • 2 years of proud ownership my daily commuter

    Nikhil Joseph

Hey guys, my bike was delivered on 1-12-2015. This was my 18th b'day gift. Royal enfield was my and my mothers dream ride. Now i have completed almost 16k km on it. I have had many bad experience with the my local service center here in kaizen motors, kochi(kerala) but it was still worth, cause enfield was my baby.

then i met a old master who is specialised in royal enfield, i gave my bike for servicing to him. Only problem was that he will take 1-1½ or 2 days. But it was worth it, because i realised that the showrooms service centre was just a rip off.

    Service & maintenance -

1st service- it costed me around rs1100

    2nd service - rs250 something

3rd service -1000-1500.Their service was not worth it.After the 3rd service i had to again take it back to get it checked. They ruined my bike by servicing it and it costed me around 3-4000rs. After the 4th service i'm done with them. I took my bike to an old master from then onward he used to service my bike. In between i used to do regular checkups also cause its free. I change my engine oil every 3k km but you don't have to do that its my personal preference. Company says that you only need to change oil every 6000km and in between you have to top up oil every 3000km from the last oil change.

    Pros-

    •it's sexy, curved

•you can ride continuously for100km without any stress.

•even though it is a heavy cruiser it will do

0-60 in 4-5 sec, 0-100 in around 16-17 sec,0-124 in 29 sec for my bike

•now i am getting around 40-45 mileage. I changed my exhaust at 15000km because engine will be more stable after reaching almost that km. When i changed my exhaust first i used to get 45-50km.

•brakes- they are not the best in the segment but that would do. Classic brakes are far better when compared with bullet 350.

•no oil leaks or serious issues till now

•my rear stock tyre lasted around 16700km something.

    Cons

•vibration will come after 90kmhr but its not that bad ..I love it. After crossing 110 or 115 it will become worse but its tolerable,i like the feel of it.

•finding a good place to service it is still a task. Anyway i have found one near me. You can ask the experienced enfield rider from your place for suggestions.

I think i have covered most of the important aspects of it.

    Your fellow rider.

    Aman Nayak

I had to wait for 6 month for delivery, even after paying 1.5lac showroom people hardly seem supportive. Riding is good, just keep spare clutch and accelerator wire as they tend to brake regardless of road condition. Service centre those are maintained by re are worst place to repair your bike, if you have option of independent service always go to that place instead of re service centre as post service one more trip to service centre is compulsory and they will make sure that your working parts should also stop working. Pros: legacy (not aware how long it will continue)Cons: service, spare parts, and extremely high cost to ownership.

  • Classic 350 honest review

    Saurabh Chouksey

  • Dug dug dug....No more in love with you

    Sambath Ar

I have been using this for 2 months the new abs model and the riding feel could have been good but due to the vibration i can't drive it for more than 100km in a single ride... Due to high vibration u can't even see anything in mirror... Braking is good... Mileage is bad as i am getting only 25kmpl in city and 27kmpl in highway.... Not happy with the bike...
