UM Commando to be launched in India on February 3

UM Motorcycles has announced that the Renegade range will be launched in India on February 3. The company will debut two versions of the Renegade Commando at the 2016 Auto Expo priced between Rs 1.2 lakh to Rs 2 lakh.

The most powerful version of the Renegade Commando comes with a 223cc single-cylinder engine, developing 18bhp and 16Nm of torque. While it would be safe to assume that this would be one of the versions to be introduced here, the identity of the second version is still a mystery. UM Motorcycles also offers the Renegade Commando with a 149cc unit in other global markets, though the company has confirmed that this version won’t be launched in India.

Apart from these models, we can also expect UM Motorcycles to showcase the rest of its international range at the Auto Expo. The company recently unveiled the new Renegade Sports S model at the 2015 ECIMA in Italy, powered by a new 279cc single-cylinder engine.

Last year, UM Motorcycles entered into a strategic partnership with Lohia Auto to manufacture its lineup at the latter's manufacturing facility in Kashipur, Uttarakhand. The company will eventually invest in a standalone unit for its motorcycles, depending upon how its products fare in the country.
