The Svartpilen 401 is the latest motorcycle from the Swedish bikemaker for the Indian market. It is a scrambler bike and has an off-road-ready design.
Husqvarna has equipped the Svartpilen 401 with a round LED headlight with a ring-like LED DRL on the periphery. Compared to the older model that was on sale in the international market, the new model’s side panels have been redone. It also gets an ornamental front visor.
The side-mounted exhaust has been replaced with a new underbelly setup, similar to the KTM 390 Duke. Even the single-side mounted tyre hugger has made way for a proper tail setup. The 2024 Svartpilen 401 uses a new trellis frame, borrowed from the KTM Duke.
The 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 gets a 398.6cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine and it makes 46bhp at 9,000rpm and 39Nm at 7,000rpm. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox and gets a bi-directional quickshifter.
The new Husqvarna 401 gets a ride-by-wire, traction control, Supermoto ABS and other features including a five-inch TFT with optional smartphone connectivity, and a type-C charging port.
Husqvarna has equipped the Svartpilen 401 with adjustable WP Apex USD front forks and an adjustable WP Apex monoshock. The braking setup includes a 320mm front and a 240mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS. These brakes are mounted on 17-inch spoke wheels wrapped in 110/70 front and 150/60 rear Pirelli block pattern tyres. The Svartpilen 401 gets a 13.5-litre fuel tank and it tips the scale at 171.2kg.
The asking price for the 2024 Svartpilen 401 is Rs. 2,92,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and it rivals the Yezdi Scrambler and Royal Enfield Scram 411.

liked the Duke 390 with best tech & powerbut had to choose this for the comfort. Love the looks, Performance is phenomenal.Have swapped to alloys to avoid puncture crisis. Negatives: low mileage getting 21 kmpl in city & 28 on highways they say its normal for this engineproduct is not well made. have multiple failures light switch, brake switch, worn off brake pads under 2k kms, oil leakage changed gasket, oil pressure switch blown, don't even start about rusting issue. completed 1 year & went to service center at least 20 timesparts are not available like duke. everything had to be ordered this bike is testing my patience i wish i can sell it but there is no market for this brand

It’s a surprise this machine sells for so much less than a Duke 390 (and not more), given it has a more universally appealing design and everything else is the same.Owning this has been great. I stay in a hill town with many stretches of bad roads and very steep roads. The lightweight body, nimble suspension, and on-demand power make this a very well-suited bike for these conditions, and I see this translating well to a city.Services are pretty easy too - despite being relatively exotic, there’s a service center an hour’s ride from my place, which is a nice once-in-a-while ritual (thanks Bajaj!).My only gripe is that it doesn’t come with the Bluetooth package, which would allow me to navigate using the bike’s dash - hope they fix it in future builds.

Looks-wise great, engine, chassis suspension all from 390 gen 3, so top of the line, drawback of spoke wheels fixed with 250's alloys. After 6500 rpm, it's a beast...Fuel Economy varies from as low as 19 kmpl to as high as 28- 29 kmpl, depending upon riding style and traffic conditions.Looks far sober than Duke, no compromise on performance. Great buy. Done 6000+ already.

Very good bike, look-wise it is very rugged & stands out from other bikes.Power is very good, torque as well, power delivery is very smooth. You will feel the acceleration as you are riding a very big bike, like a more than 1000 cc bike fully digital console and with number of modes are there.Traction control is also there.Controlling is also good.

Loved the riding experience, although it's a bit uncomfortable to handle its skids while kneeling in sharp turns rest is perfect good mileage, good looks smooth functioning of the gears, handling is OK, produces good pickup even with 3 people, OK for long drive not as good but will work price is also acceptable for the middle class to buy a decent looking bike with functions as this bike husqvarna is a love for the stunts one can do on it and advanced disc brakes and cushion seats to ride on most of the day.

Easy to control in tight spaces, can feel the pull bike is just too awesome and the + point is pillion can sit easily, a perfect urban cafe racer, the weight to power ratio is unbeatable just love riding this bike, clocked 1270km till now, and the service is awesome only issue I'm facing is the mobile connectivity and the service app is not working properly. The bike runs smoothly compared to the 390 Duke. Attached pic of the first service as well.

Extremely Bad Service & Unprofessional after sales
1 year ago
Ch Kiran
Extremely disappointed with Husqvarna's Motorcycle after-sales service! Waiting 15+ days for basic repair parts is unacceptable.Husqvarna's service center is a nightmare! No spare parts are available, and they hold your bike hostage for 15+ daysBought a Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 bike thinking it'd be reliable, but it spends more time at the service center than my home for minor spare parts! Otherwise bike is wonderfulHusqvarna's after-sales service is non-existent. Be prepared for long waits and frustration.
