About R 1250 GS Adventure

BMW R 1250 GS Adventure is a commuter bike available in 2 variants in india. Its lowest version starts from a price of ₹18,25,000 (ex-showroom) and the top version from a price of ₹21,95,000 (ex-showroom). BMW R 1250 GS Adventure generates 132.1 bhp of power and 143 nm of torque from its 1254cc engine. With both rear and front disk brakes, the top variant of BMW R 1250 GS Adventure also has an anti-locking braking system. This 217 kg bike is available in 3 colours.

The GS series of adventure-touring motorcycles have been the highest sellers for BMW Motorrad for a very long time, and the 2019 year model has seen a major update to it.

First up is the increase in displacement of the engine, which is now 1254cc worth. It also has intelligent variable valve timing, which adjusts both lift and duration as needed. Peak power and torque figures are now 136bhp and 143Nm. Hill start control, traction control and two riding modes – road and rain – are standard. A 6.5-inch TFT colour screen displays all the information you need, and all-LED lighting rounds off the package. Spoke rims shod with on/off road are standard, and the fuel tank is a 30-litre unit since the Adventure is a touring-focussed motorcycle that is expected to go to areas with little to no infrastructure.
Since the R 1250 GS Adventure is an offroad-biased variant, it will compete with the likes of the Ducati Multistrada 1260 Enduro and Triumph Tiger 1200’s offroad-biased variants. Prices begin at Rs 18.3 lakhs and go up to Rs 22 lakhs, ex-showroom.

BMW R 1250 GS Adventure Expert Opinion

  • Good Things

    • The new 1250cc engine is super smooth
    • Excellent road and off-roading capabilities
    • Loaded with electronics
  • Could be Better

    • Priced on the higher side
    • Limited service reach
    • Not suitable for shorter riders

BikeWale's Take

The R1250GS Adventure is the best ADV bike in the segment. BMW has been able to achieve this due to the boxer engine configuration that brings in low centre in gravity which makes riding really easy and comfortable. Plus, the bike is equipped with a lot of advanced electronics. But all these comes with a price tag that makes this bike quite expensive.
