Aprilia RS660 is expected to launch in India in July 2021 in the expected price range of ₹ 9,50,000 to ₹ 10,50,000. Currently available bikes which are similar to RS660 are Ducati Scrambler Nightshift, BMW F900R & Triumph Street Triple R. Another bike similar to RS660 is Harley-Davidson Streetfighter 975 which is launching in August 2021 in India.
The RS660 is Aprilia’s middleweight supersports offering that was unveiled at the 2019 EICMA in Italy. It gets a sharp full-fairing that features aero winglets and integrates aggressive-looking LED headlamps with cornering lights. The fuel tank gets sharp lines and creases while the svelte rear section completes the look of the RS660. However, Aprilia is positioning the RS660 as a street bike rather than a race bike. Hence, the motorcycle offers a slightly upright riding position courtesy the slightly raised clip-on handlebars.
It comes powered by a 660cc, parallel-twin motor that produces 100bhp. The manufacturer has equipped the RS660’s electronic package with wheelie control, cornering ABS, cruise control, five ride modes and a two-way quick shifter. Moreover, it also sports a Bluetooth-enabled five-inch TFT screen with two display options. Suspension duties on the RS660 are handled by Kayaba inverted forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear. Meanwhile braking hardware is sourced from Brembo with twin 320mm discs up front. Aprilia is offering the RS660 in two colours- matte black with red and a purple with red paint inspired by the RS250 Reggiani Replica motorcycle.
The Aprilia RS 660 is expected to arrive in India sometime next year and compete against the Honda CBR650R and the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R.
